New Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) Out Testing On Public Roads...

After numerous delays, we are finally seeing the 2026 Ram 1500 Ramcharger testing on public roads. Shown in the ultra-premium Tungsten trim, this prototype was spotted testing outside the Chrysler Technical Center (CTC) in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Notably, the prototype was missing the expected 1500 Ramcharger badging, instead sporting a Ram 1500 eTorque badge on its hood.

There was an interview with one of the chief engineers (Mr. Tolkacz) for the ReEV (RE-EV, EREV, ERBEV, or whatever flavor you want) and he spoke about the details of the vehicle. He also mentioned that he is driving on in the Metro Detroit area and suggested there are other fast-feedback vehicles.

Production schedules were planned for April start time for public production vehicles and run for about a month or so before switching over to 2026 model year. That appears to have changed given some of the '26 MY statements from leadership.

Nice design but it will not sell very well. Why? PRICE is outside of majority consumers are willing to spend. RAM needs to drop their MSRP by 30-percent or keep suffering sales.

Yeah it would be better to sell and invest in index funds then the idea that they should run a charity is funny.

Not to say they don't need a low end model, but RAM suffered on both ends of the market for volume. Most of STLA contraction was a contraction of volume and capacity. They vacated large swaths of product across all market segments and some they don't even play in like Tesla Y plays, RAV4 and CRV, Mid-Side Sedan ..... and yes entry level pickups in full sized and mid-sized.

Tungsten is in the Premium... RamCharger is premium on that. 14K towing WOW.

Roughly 200K+ volume was lost when they discontinued the Classic without a replacement or use of that Capacity. Pepe starved the company across the board.

If they were priced significantly higher than competitive product, you would have a point. As such, they aren’t, so you don’t. A swing and a miss

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm not an EV person at all. But if I were to buy an EV, It would still be a Mopar
