We are finally getting to see exactly how much former Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares made last year. According to Reuters, Tavares saw a decrease in pay by 37% last year to $23.91 million (€23 million) before he was forced to resign in December after clashing with the automaker’s board of directors over his constant cost-cutting measures, rather than keeping an eye on broader goals. His aggressive pricing strategy contributed to slipping U.S. sales, which the automaker is still trying to claw back.

They should be charging him that much and more, not giving him that much. that man literally destroyed this company

Not literally....... want to steal it from the Italians and make it super French Consolidation isn't technically destroying it... More like stealing it. But not like we have seen that before.

Take him to Germany and give him shoulder surgery
DUDE that is not right..... Let's not soil the memory of the man who save Chrysler corp from be auctioned off by the PE guys. SM deserved to be able to retire. This guy was just trying to scam into running a giant french Auto-Conglomerate they are not the same.

Paid all that money to run a company into the ground. Can you imagine how much he would have made if he was successful? He should be charged with Criminal Impersonation of a CEO!!!

I love Sergio, they sent the wrong man to Elkanns Doctor

I think a lot of these CEO's salaries should be based on performance and market share. Give them a modest base salary with incentives that slightly increases each year. And when possible, hire a guy that has been with the company for some time who isn't from accounting or cost control. The amount of money these guys make is beyond rock star status. And then you throw in the perks of private jets, stock options and Holidays... it's a shame. The average assembly line worker has a right to be upset.
But it's the engineering of these vehicles that will make or break the company in the long run. Designing reliable, economical, attractive and solid cars and trucks is what will determine if the company survives or not. And these CEO's seem to cut from engineering first and foremost. They outsource a lot of engineering too, which saves money, but doesn't always get the job done. The old Chrysler company had some really good engineers back in the day and they brought a lot of innovation to the game. Stellantis needs a "Skunkworks" of their own. Product quality seems to be all over the place lately.
