Not that hard for me to figure this out. Forget the Avenger and concentrate on the new Renegade that must have a gas, hybrid and electric option. Get that Cherokee to market ASAP, a critical product cancelled prematurely without a successor ready. Three power options required here too. Lastly get build quality, pricing and those notoriously awful dealerships straightened out and you’re all good.
I’m no genius for sure, but it seems simple to me.

The two cylinder IC engine was too underpowered to be successful when BMW used it. The A123 battery pack would have been a financial anchor to the newly formed FCA business. The platform this concept in based upon is long gone, but ideas raised when this Jeep toured the auto show circuit in 2008-09 are planted in the minds of many potential buyers. This vehicle still looks good and the state of the art in hybrid power trains has advanced significantly. Stellantis will soon be building a domestic version of the PSA 1.6 liter Puretech four in Dundee, MI. The Avenger uses a 1.2 three cylinder engine of the same engine family. Build the 3 cylinder engine in Dundee as well, but replace the turbo with a mechanical blower and run the Miller cycle. Keep the Jeep Avenger's Punch hybrid transaxle away from our market and use the Euro Compass/Renegade hybrid model's Magna 7-speed transaxle. That transaxle has a much more powerful e-motor and can be used with an e-axle as well, like the Avenger's e-AWD.
