They could build a midsize Ram off the Gladiator platform. This would give the Ram midsize some electrification options. Ford offers both the Ranger and Maverick. We should also have a Rampage type pickup.

Crowded.... BOF is crowded and heavy. A Gladiator RAM would be too close to the failed Last Gen and the 1500.

But using the WL or STLA L architectures could make a great truck, and then Build the Rampage in Mexico.
 
Let’s introduce some new thinking on a critical topic by flipping the perspective. It is obvious that the Brazilian family of pickup platforms has a great deal going for it and would be a quick, if not compromised solution for Ram in at least two segments. The development of a next generation line of pickups for Ram that meets and exceeds North American standards, competition and domestic manufacturing requirements is the harder, longer but correct decision. The effort should be funded through Ram, Fiat and Peugeot budgets since the ultimate goal is not pickups imported for Ram, but shared pickup platform technologies exported globally, designed and built to high American standards and brand specific requirements. Flip the thinking and see the wisdom. A platform that Ram’s foreign partners can replicate in their assembly plants, or if preferred, have built for them in our domestic factory. Let’s call it an “over easy” perspective.
Sharing development costs and increasing platform utilization will be the solution as we flip the perspective from a Ram platform to a Stellantis platform. It’s not breakfast, but looking to eggs in the morning could give new insight and Ram a better pickup in a vital segment.
 
I love the STLA Large platform and I love midsize pickup trucks, however, this may not be the best matchup. The STLA large maximum wheelbase and overall length are equivalent to the size of a Ford Maverick, which is a little larger than the Rampage. Now if Stellantis can take the STLA Large platform and extend it to the size of the Ridgeline then I could see this being a decent idea. A Ridgeline sized truck with a hybrid 2.0T powertrain or a Hurricane S/O powertrain would be one hell of a "right sized" pickup. 420hp/468tq, car like ride, a decent size bed with in bed storage and ram boxes, fold flat rear seats, a street performance R/T package, an off road Rebel pkg and a few other things and Ram has a good truck
 
WL75 Length 204.9 in
Ford Maverick 199in
Ford Ranger is 210.6 in.
Honda Ridgeline 210 in

So first off the WL75 is nearly as long as this sample, with a bed and tow bumper 5" is nothing.

Of course they can pull the Wheel back a bit you are only talking about a few inchs, it not far off now.
 
Ram needs a Mid sized truck like last year allready, been hearing talk about this for too long now, are they still gaging the market, that has always been their excuse before.

This truck needs to be a game changer both in size and performance just like the original Dakota was back in 87.

It needs to be rear wheel drive based and come in multiple cab and bed lengths with a few different engine choices.

As far as the Rampage goes that can be whatever they have in Brazil it’s not a real truck more like a modern Elcamino to compete with the Maverick.

So when can we expect this truck by 2030 maybe as they don’t even have a prototype available yet unless it’s just not been leaked.
 
Same gauging of the market for the Grand Wagoneer.
We had prototypes back in the '90's based off BR's
Think BR Ramcharger(mexico only)
They blew it.
They already blew the mid-size PU market timing.
