On Thursday, we posted an internal e-mail given to suppliers from Stellantis to suspend the Chrysler C6X its development program. This highly anticipated electric crossover, a variant of theAirflow Concept, was originally set to debut later this year. However, production has been put on hold until at least January 31, 2025, leading to widespread speculation about the brand’s future.

I believe the word halt overstates the Airflow status which to my knowledge has been suspended to the end of the month. I think there is much positive with the Airflow, a vehicle if some important changes are made, can help carry the Chrysler brand forward. Overall the concept in purpose and positioning is on target. It definitely should continue development post suspension.
Changes I strongly advocate follow.
Since it sits on the same exact platform as the maligned Charger, it must launch not as an all electric, a model it can continue to develop, but with the Hurricane six AWD drivetrain. Second, the Airflow from the front as this concept is presented could be a Tesla, a Toyota or anything that uses this overdone single narrow grill. To be a Chrysler its face must be one that incorporates an immediately identifiable front signature. I’d start with the 300 legacy and other Chryslers that used some version of the “waterfall” look that defined the brand for decades.
Clarifying the wording nuanced above, I believe is more accurate, indeed time to suspend things and get a gas version at launch and get the team to give the Airflow a styling feature that shouts loud and clear “I’m a Chrysler” ! !
