Jeep® is set to expand its lineup with the all-new Jeep Recon (EJ), a D-segment SUV that blends rugged capability with modern versatility. According to one of our sources at Stellantis’ Toluca Assembly Plant in Mexico—where the Jeep Compass and the all-new, all-electric Wagoneer Sare currently produced—Job #1 production for the Recon is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 24, 2025. This timeline is significantly earlier than initially expected and aligns with the increasing number of pre-production pilot models recently spotted testing in Metro Detroit.

I wonder how they would do a hybrid power train. Ford came up with a mechanical AWD version of their hybrid transmission now used in the Maverick. If Jeep could do the same thing with the eFlite transmission from the Pacifica to use in the Recon, the hybrid version would fly off the shelves.

Pretty sure they will just use the new Punch system with the Purtech, The Pacifica system is bespoke and on it last days. My preference would be for the Hybrid to just be a REEV.

The Punch system, if used with North American driving conditions, will be the end of Jeep. The brand needs a domestically built robust transmission.

I have more to say about a REEV setup, but it will be later in another thread. Did the old Chrysler Corporation solve the under hood space dilemma with combing both a robust ICE generator combined with an electric front drive 25 years ago? The Leap EREV setup is rear drive only, and the Ramcharger packs everything under a lot of real estate. I don't think the Recon will exceed the Wagoneer "S" 113 inch wheelbase, and Jeeps should be AWD.

Imagine having the solution to a problem 25 years before no one imagined such a dilemma would occur.

reev setup is an across the board solution to EV to HEV issue, and eliminates the need for transmission at all. Even the London taxi is getting a Generator.

For sure Jeep is getting the Punch system, the question is whether this Jeep will got the system.

Take the doors off? I didn't see any brackets/sockets for mirror attachments on the body.

Looks like you will have to put it in the door hinge like a wrangler

Hydro Blue looks fire in this... Plain White is not so good.

30% Fleet requirement for CARB sooner the better.
