Despite Stellantis’ recent decision to phase out HEMI® V8 options from its passenger car lineup, the automaker continues to embrace its V8 heritage by expanding its Mopar Direct Connection catalog. This initiative allows performance enthusiasts to access high-powered HEMI crate engines that keep the spirit of American muscle alive, even as the company shifts its focus toward electric vehicles (EVs).

Ouch ! Every time I start to get into the Hurricane thinking, Mopar hits me between the eyes. Heck, even the minions at Dodge, they need to conform to survive we know, up and teases us with a Drag Pack Hemi, just hurts so bad. Build them as a direct bolt-in for the otherwise fantastic Charger, but stop killing us already. We know your pointing the way. We know where your hearts are, but so are ours, and it hurts. Damn fools at Stellantis, they are clueless and a bunch of dorks. Yes I just admitted my tacit embracement of the Hurricane and then this surfaces. Not fair, not nice, this is cruel and unusual punishment. If there is a next generation NHRA Factory Stock Charger, this engine will be under the hood. Any aftermarket businesses getting the hint here? Hello, Hemi in a Dodge Daytona, get it ?

The only way for V8 HEMI to return is if they improved their corporate average

A new V8 would have to be a ground up redesign. I can’t mentally close the door to that maybe some point but Stellantis will run all companies into the ground before that could ever happen.
