Alfa Romeo and Maserati could join development?

Stellantis made a so called premium poole witth Alfa, DS and Lancia. Technically Alfa can't have less in common with these 2 brands. From what I know STLA Large was considered by many European brands at the time and was discarded. Dunno the reason. Costs, French supplier base... But STLA Medium...

A choice by the new boss of Stellantis that speaks volumes about his change of strategy?

Unfortunately powertrain development takes a lot of time and a lot has been lost due to Manley and especially due to Tavares. Damage is irreversible. I repeat something which I typed on another forum. Combined FCA+PSA marker share in Europe once reached almost 25% while now it's around 16%. At...

Alfa Romeo and Maserati could join development?

Basically, this isn't something new. They will just get back to what was started (under late Sergio) and how it should be.

Alfa Romeo and Maserati could join development?

"We will have the new [Stellantis] CEO [on the] 23rd of June. There will be an announcement to define the alignment with him," Filici said. "Then after this time, we will go ahead with the presentation of the strategic plan of Alfa Romeo and Maserati, together finding synergies where is...

A choice by the new boss of Stellantis that speaks volumes about his change of strategy?

But beware, the "new" Stellantis could review its technological synergy strategies. It has long been said that the strengths of the group's Italian brands take a dim view of the gradual replacement of their technologies by those whose roots come from PSA (especially with the Puretech scandal...

Dodge Reportedly Planning New Crossover Between Hornet and Durango

Something doesn't add up. We are talking about year when current generation Dodge Hornet should be already dead if all goes according to plans. STLA Medium based car should offer more interior space for a given size than comparable STLA Large based car. Of course if Peugeot did design it properly.

2026 Cherokee (KM) Spied - Nobody cares because of the 1.6L powertrain

It depends on competitors. But yes, low to mildly boosted 2.0 GME running on Miller cycle would be a much better choice. I don't like this push up with PSA sourced engines. We ate the **** in Europe. But it's too much with US. And IMO this product has engine problem on pointing to a wrong...

Where has AlexB been? Stellantis stock tanking

@cygnus I would say that attractive price point was the main reason. From what I've got, my information, higher trim levels of WK2 were constantly cross shopped against German competitors. Speaking a about engines. Ford is constantly denying you. EcoBoost is a cornerstone of their offering.

Where has AlexB been? Stellantis stock tanking

@cygnus It dependa on the competitors. What are they offering. Is it being cross shops with BMW X5. We are talking about WL. If answer is yes then you should offer similar powertrains. There is no place for naturally aspirated V6 especially if 2.0 turbo is superior in every way. And so on and...

Where has AlexB been? Stellantis stock tanking

Ex FCA has many powertrains in their portfolio. I don't see it as an issue. The issue is stop of development for some powertrains, stop of many electrified powertrain development many years ago and so on. Times can't be run backwards. And I think that FCA has lost many years of development...

Where has AlexB been? Stellantis stock tanking

@cygnus STLA is getting cheap and stingy. At least that was the way under Carlos. I'm hopping for a change in direction. REEV? Much smaller engine would be sufficient or even a naturally aspirated engine. New Cherokee is FWD based, transverse engine although on STLA Large platform. STLA...

Where has AlexB been? Stellantis stock tanking

They have electric motor if you order them as such. But usually you must buy them from ZF and not build under a licence. Stateside production in North Caroline(I think it's there) starts in 2025. Not sure about China. It was 2022 in Europe I think. Not sure at what scale. Transmissions are ZF...

Where has AlexB been? Stellantis stock tanking

I can comment about powertrain strategy the whole day. The story is. Ship had sailed with Sergio. Advent of Manley was the end of many electrification projects, many hybrids, but also many engine variations, of course in the first place as a hybrid. Then came Peugeot and killed more of it...

Charger Daytona delayed? Prototypes supposedly failing.

For entry level BEV from STLA... A lot will depend of LFP battery adoption. So far only LFP cars by Stellantis are on STLA smart car platform. Entry level low cost cars. A s they have a very low battery capacity.
