Would that suggest you could reskin a sister brand vehicle for the (PH/B)EV market? Could you take the Grand Wagoneer and make it a Town and Country PHEV. Could you take the Jeep Compass and make it BEV ? Could you take the 500X and reskin it as a Chrysler Cruiser and make it EV?
Chrysler could use a Halo car if it wants to re-splash into the market.... I think a Prowler/Cruiser like model would be better aligned....
(food for thought - would the Cruiser been the success it was if it was the Plymouth Touring Cruiser)
Good point - you could probably get by with an even less number as the technology is tuned. I wonder if regenerative breaking w/ wind-turbine and solar charging are being investigated... The costs are high now - but battery power is not long term sustainable - it will have the nuclear problem...
FCA created a commitment with Google for incar experience, what has become uConnect5. This does not mean that partnership will go away, but if you can afford to keep multiple options open, it can leave you with options.
Apple did this with their OS, keeping an x86 based version in parallel...
I have several people who like the 4 cylinder Chrysler 200c for ride, comfort, feel, and economy (even with the low rear door entry). Not everyone in America needs throttle however I agree the conditioning of US consumers is heavy on power. It would not be a high volume seller is my guess...
I find the dealer experience is less than value add. I really thing the automotive sales experience in the US is very much lacking the rest of the retail industry, even if you factor in large ticket or durable items (if you think of vehicles as durable). Especially in states that force sales...
I'm having some trouble with some of the mathematical calculations on the sales numbers. Can someone help me understand the Jeep and Chrysler sales totals ?
In part, I believe you are correct. However, 10-20% of the market is still a sedan of some sort; and if you can capture that market by appealing to the consumers, you can make a profit (which is all stockholders care about). I agree you can't just badge engineer and beat out the remaining...
I think you may have hit on a niche. People mover, already been stated. The key in your statement was the kid friendly, family friend, durable. American's love disposable things - but their cars, they still like to keep them for a while. While some car for their car, on-the-go families...
Battery powered vehicles are a means to an end, not the end. The means changes people's perceptions, conditions them, weans them from ICE, but the long term sustainability of batteries is still a challenge. What do you do with 10+year old batteries when the volumes is 5x that now.
The...
If you target Chrysler to technology hungry buyers that could be a potential fit. If not done well, it may end up like Olds did when they went modern and alienated their base (kind of like Bill Knapps did). In Chrysler's favor is they only have 3 (nee 2) vehicles. If you take the Pacific high...
I think we have seen there are no shortage of critics. Apple had so many and people said why would I invest in a company that does not make a profit (Tesla) and does not produce a product (Google). It is easy to be a critic, it is bold to be an innovator and try to show people you do not want...
The 200c interior is highly effective. The rotary dial shifter takes getting used to. But ergonomically it fits an average person well in the front seat. The rear is a little low - but why people harp on that so much (when most of the time you don't drive with more than 1 passenger if that)...
This seems to be a 200 class replacement IFF that car segment stabilizes. The oil market will drive some of the changes - and IIRC there is an all E version of this that would have to be crash tested and modified for NA safety standards. Opel Insignia GS | Premium class | Opel Ireland...
It appears to be a difference between http(s)://www.moparinsiders.com/ and http(s)://moparinsiders.com/ Even though both resolve to the same service, the routing services that responds appears to be behaving different based on the URL.
Yes, the designs for many of the PSA models fit better to NA culture than many of the FIAT models did. The 500 was just too 'clown-car' for most American tastes. It was not niche branded like the Prowler or even the PT Cruiser (which was an accidental success) to classify a higher price point...
Is it some kind of malware for me or is the virtual hosting for the site getting confused with another customer
