Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m bullish on the Wagoneers, and hybrids are the way forward no doubt. What they have managed to do with the eTorque has shocked the industry (pardon the pun). Still, when compared to the other offerings, it has the most risk associated with it.
If they can pull it off, they would be well positioned to step into Tesla’s market-share. They can’t continue to turn out the unreliable garbage they do once they have real competition.
Wagoneer is probably the greatest risk/reward Jeep, with fuel prices and consumer acceptance being the wildcards. The JT, on the other hand, is about as low-risk as it gets but it is the fulfillment of the Wrangler-sub-brand. As a result might have the greatest impact world wide.
Interesting...
Chances are—nothing’s changed.
Now I’m no expert, but this is what I’ve learned. Any significant change costs lots’a greenbacks given the limitations inherent in a transaxle design. Short, stubby shafts makes for maintenance nightmares as universal joints twist into junk. Portal axles would...

You might be right in regard to the I6 and Alfa Romeo—even using 48v subsystems to shorten the length of a dressed engine, this will still likely be a long block, and they exist in a system which puts a premium on constraining the overall length of the vehicle. Maserati saloons, however being a...
Hmm, I wonder what they intend to do with the Express name? Perhaps they might want Tradesman to take the wheel as the overarching budget model. Express seemed to be a popular name, perhaps too popular just to retire. Maybe that will become more of a street performance model—SRT by another name?
Thanks for the input guys.
What I’m hearing so far is
Lots of passenger space/people carrying capacity.
Relatively high engine performance.
Modern amenities/infotainment center.
Rambox without sacrificing too much cargo volume.
Keep it coming!
yeah they can be competitive. They have a decent engineering staff iirc. Military vehicles are a different beast, they don’t need to engineer to keep cost down—capability, repairability, survivability—these are the key selling points.
Like the title says, I’m not looking for rumor material, cause there are other threads for that. Instead I’m interested to hear what features/capabilities would you want/expect from a Ram midsize? I’ll start out:
I’d need the pickup to fit in my narrow driveway, so I’d want it to be roughly...
