It probably has already been sold there in the US by BMW. It was used in the 2011–2015 BMW 1 Series (F20) 118i and 2012–2015 BMW 3 Series (F30) 320i ED.
Not sure if you guys got those versions there?
IMO, it's just stupid to waste resources on this when they just got the new 1.5 GME engine. The...
The problem is that americans like big numbers. Any EV (even if city car) that doesn't have at least 200 miles EPA rating will be criticized by your auto-journalists unanimously and that will scare people away because of range anxiety.
You can use it as a direct comparison for the commercial performance Fiat could've had in Europe if they actually made new vehicles for the brand instead of hollowing it out to be a plum merger target.
But that's what the FCA management for the european brands. They emptied out the product range so that they could be then completely stuffed with coach work from a potential merger partner. This didn't happen in South America and you see the true potential of Fiat's sales.
If Fiat had a similar...
This decision doesn't make much sense to me. The 1.5 is much newer and is similar to the 2.0 Hurricane. Ah well.
Also, in what models in the US could this be used on?
That's sacrilege for the Panda. Historically the Panda is a city car. Even smaller than a sub-compact.
I'm not happy that they're even considering using the Panda name in a B-segment car (sub-compact).
This won't ever go to North America.
The bigger picture of this to me is that Stellantis is breaking aways from FCA's previous partnership with Tofas. Which makes sense in a production PoV. Stellantis has plenty of capacity in their factories to be used to be producing cars in partnerships outside their factories.
This to me also...
I'm not against offering a brother model of the Tonale as a Dodge! IMO, it's the only way to make it economically viable even. But the same could be said of the Renegade and 500X and those two models couldn't look and feel more different. They could've made the Hornet more different than what we...
Manley moved the Grecale and MC20 from Alfa to Maserati and made the decision for the Hornet. He clearly wanted to turn Alfa into a Dodge twin for Europe. Similar to the Tipo/Neon debacle.
If the idiot continued there he would've killed Alfa in the US completely.
Imparato might've forced some...
Some governments are waking up to that fact and starting to implement penalties on gas stations for not including charging stalls. I think heavier penalties should be reserved for oil companies if they don't include charging stations in their stations.
It's the same insidious sabotage movement...

Despite all the bluster from the VW group about the ID3 being the people's car, the fact is that it's been a sales fiasco. And even though Stellantis EVs are a first generation effort...
