This is a post about Carlos Tavares interview and what he has to say.
Also, there's no problem with a better balance between private and public transportation.
That might be hard to understand for someone from a country with 800 cars per 1000 inhabitants and without decent public...
No it wouldn't, because if you publish all the detailed information on a scientific article you cannot patent it. There's plenty of research published about the technology and addressing the technical limitations.
Blue Solution's batteries ARE solid state batteries but they have limitations...
How's that relevant to this interview?
If you want to talk about that could you please open a post with a link about that?
I can't find much info about what was said there and how it pertains to Stellantis.
Interview of a portuguese website with Carlos Tavares
He has some very interesting views about the chinese market, he talks about solid state batteries and that they must be compatible with the battery factories that are being built in the next few years.
It can be done. There's battery chemistries that are cheap and can be used to make cheaper vehicles. Namely LFP batteries. They're also more resistant to degradation than NMC batteries.
The issue is that since they're less energy dense, it's better if they're used in more aerodynamic models...
That's not so much an issue of EVs, but of manufacturers trying to squeeze even more profits. BMW and Toyota are doing it on ICE vehicles as well.
When every function gets tied down to the infotainment system, demanding subscriptions for heated seats and steering wheel or remote unlock is much...
That doesn't mean it will be unsucessful though. They can sell in the other states that don't follow that. There's still some very big states that don't follow CARB standards.
They might even do something like the Corvette E-Ray AWD Hybrid to drop emissions and guarantee competitive performance...
Didn't know it was the PSA infotainment. Hopefully it's better than the dreadful infotainment in the 2008. I hated it.
As for the 54 kWh package in EMP vehicles, I don't know if the issue is the EMP platform.
It wasn't supposed to be used for BEVs. IMO it might have severe packaging limitations.
Since phase out of combustion engines is just for 2035, it makes a lot of sense to make new ICE models that will last until then. That means two more generation of combustion engine Challenger/Chargers.
Infotainment is uConnect. The discontinuation of diesel engines for this segment of cars started even before the merger. The 1.3 Multijet was discontinued in the Panda and 500 before the merger.
Diesel is dead in Europe, there's no point in even wasting money to include it. The future is EVs and...
It's not bad, just ridiculously badly priced. It would be a a very niche vehicle in the US since this is a sub-compact vehicle.
That's a very small market over there, so it makes no sense to even sell it there.
Their strategy was to rip-off as much €€€ as possible before there was more competition, because they were caught with their pants down with current vehicles in a compromised platform.
They even bought that CotY award from the Nissan Ariya to try to have nice advertisement and now Tesla blew up...
Insuranced registrations of Tesla in China had dropped significantly because they actually have insane competition in China. The quality of chinese EVs in many aspects is superior to Tesla, if you exclude the battery technology.
Even the LFP batteries are better in some parameters than Tesla...
The prices in Portugal for the Avenger are just completely ridiculous.
Price starts at 37,800€ for the lowest equipment level and the most expensive at 42,800€.
For a B-SUV. For comparisons sake, a LPG Dacia Duster starts at 18,550€.
And you know what's interesting? Tesla just announced they...
