not seething what your seeing--their bottom line is far better than any other US manufacturer, and one of the best in the world. They saw that they might be able to pick up a decent Euro production house on the cheap and strengthen the Euro portion of FCA. It was a good bet up until it wasn't.
if you have the popcorn, go over to the other site and watch people's heads explode. they dont even realize nissan and Mitsu aren't part of this merger.
That’s is reassuring. Hopefully the difficulties of establishing Fiat in the US will make them think twice. Not that I think Fiat needs to go away, I’d still like to see them survive here as a niche compact vehicle brand.
I just don’t understand how bringing yet another brand back to the United States is a plan for success. We already have a supersaturated market of “me-too” vehicles. There are n more synergies left to be had IMHO.
Yeah, would love to find one in my neck of the woods in descent condition, it would keep me from dreaming about a small to midsized Ram that might never materialize. Besides which, i’ll shortly have to turn the hEl Camino over to my nephew, since I’m just holding it until he’s ready to make it...
Interesting how he sees a two-truck marketing plan going forward. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with for the mid/compact truck market. Really think there’s space for a very different type of truck than we generally see here in the US.
Very aggressive timetable. Dealing with such small production runs offers them the flexibility to do just that. Their business model actually demands they be quick and responsive to their customer base. Much like Porsche to name one.
Good job Ryan!
I understand why you went the direction you chose with this chop, but you can count me in the “vocal traditionalists” group. To me this style of SUV is just too bland, especially if intended as a high end vehicle. If a little reverse slope to the grill were added, perhaps not...
Wouldn’t be surprised if they feel they need to justify their love of the Ram to the automotive orthodoxy by dissing everything else FCA. Somehow it’s OK so long as they dig BMW and Honda, see? Of course out here in the dry prairie of Eastern Washington, there a deep love of anything HEMI and...
Not surprised we finally see a mule, but it’s great to see non-the-less. Was almost hopping that we see a switch to solid axles up front making the Wagoneer a super-sized Wrangler, but it looks like there going the other direction.
I agree—a cleaned up Nukizer nose would be an excellent direction for Jeep—I think the thin slot chrome “norelco” style grill would be ideal, were it not for the recent decision to make 7-slots universal. Going slightly retro might also appeal to the snob-crowd who wants something that stands out.
Sure it’s a possibility, but my (limited) understanding is the TR offering has been shelved, not just the big 8. It could be they are clearing the deck of projects as they prioritize production. Once they clear the backlog, they might revive the TR.
Hmm, yeah. I left Allpar due to the toxicity, not going back so if this place goes I’m just going to move on from Mopar-geekdom. Thank you for the good times!
