I still don't see why FCA needs a partner. They need money, sure, but the "merger" that happened back in 2008/2009 was going to be great because Fiat had the small engines and FWD cars and Chrysler had the V8's, SUV's and trucks. Pull Fiat out of north America and push them into Brazil/south...
You could put some multimatic DSSV shocks in one, like the gen5 Z/28 had and the gen6 ZL1 1LE has along with some sticky rubber - that would go a long way. Weight will then be an issue, as crazy as the gen5 Z/28 was (LS7 427 power) it got beat by the gen6 SS 1LE.
There are no synergies with Dodge, Ram or Jeep - this is a life line to Fiat I am afraid and maybe some rebadged Chryslers that nobody will touch, which I am sure they are already aware of. All I see is an attempt to offload FCA here.
I notice they said the head of Mopar role has been handed off to someone else but nothing about Dodge or Chrysler in that article? Guys don't generally retire from positions like he had, maybe the sales slump got him the boot - or something much worse is afoot that goes without mention.
Camaro is also designed to really only appeal to younger guys where the challenger appeals to young and old. That's when you realize how much better the challenger could be doing in sales if it had a more sporty chassis like the camaro.
They are going to keep cranking the prices of their vehicles higher and while this turns away buyers (have you seen the dive in sales?) they should still be making money, but apparently that isn't the case either.
And this is his answer "Manley promies the second half will be better once the...
I am currently shopping for a '19 SS and I've been wishing they had just put the LT1 in the regular body as I think it looks better than the SS and now my wish has been granted, problem is I wanted one soon, not this fall just in time for winter but we'll see how things play out. This car is...
Is this engine even a sure thing? Someone said proof was on linkedin but all there is over there is 4 cyl references. "They" also state it'll be a 2.9L and that's a Euro thing that doesn't apply over here. Also, doesn't FCA NA have bigger fish to fry than making a brand new 6 cyl when they...
That's fine but not when you keep turning up the prices on vehicles that use to be value priced. Higher prices is fine but the cars better be worth it. Lord help them if a redeye buyer decides to have a look at the hi-po Audi's, Benz's and BMW's.
I am well aware of what a hostile takeover is - Chrysler isn't going to do one to GM in this lifetime, they can't even afford to update half their fleet.
Their brand new cash cow just came out last year - there goes that theory. I've seen this before with clients, they start to stall, delays are abundant and it always means one thing - they are broke.
Wall street is the reason for the ever increasing higher "transaction prices" of FCA vehicles - they want GM and Ford to crank their prices as well. FCA's CFO said this was going to be happening in one of the recent investor calls. Its where $80,000 Ram 1500's, $60,000 Jeeps and $90,000...
