Is The FIAT Experiment In North America Over?

Fold Fiat brands into CDJ dealerships, buying out studio dealerships if necessary. Part of the problem is it’s too hard to find one, let alone consider purchasing one. The only way to grow the brand is to get it out to the people.

UAW calls national strike against GM, first broad strike since 1982

I’m more convinced then ever that they’re going to try to break the UAW once and for all. They’re going for the moonshot and it’s going to get hella nasty.

UAW calls national strike against GM, first broad strike since 1982

GMs gambit appears to be to split union from leadership and crush the strike. That’s a risky play since workers feel their backs are against the wall and management is rolling in money right now.

IIRC Toro isn’t Compass based (US-W) but it is styled very similarly.

Fiat 500 axed in North America

I would have bought that this summer instead of the used Ranger I picked up. BEV minitruck would be aces!

Fiat 500 axed in North America

That makes sense—they still need a “California” ZEV. RE: Toluca production, I’m betting on a metric ton pickup for N/S America markets.

    FCA-Renault merger talks persist

I think that’s a good thing considering the global economic outlook. The threat of impending recession might take some of the starch out of Frances interventionist leanings.

Next-Generation Grand Cherokee PHEV Powertrain Mule

yeah, punitive solutions are always the most effective right? /s I also have a bone to pick with your characterization of BEVs as being government driven. When you factor in all the tax rebates given to petroleum industry as well as all the healthcare and environmental costs associated with...

Next-Generation Grand Cherokee PHEV Powertrain Mule

Let's break reliability into two segments: mechanical reliability and software reliability. electronic drive is much more mechanically reliable than IC, simply because of fewer moving parts, much less maintenance required for equivalent work done. software reliability is hit or miss, depending...

Next-Generation Grand Cherokee PHEV Powertrain Mule

This is why I’m such a fan of full-on BEVs—their drop-dead simple mechanical nature. Designed right they will last decades needing only a few battery swaps on the way.

I agree, the current Durango hits the sweet spot between performance, utility, value, and style. My preference would be something slightly smaller, but they don’t make the Magnum anymore (damn it!)

Should Dodge//SRT Bring A Mid-Engine Supercar To Market?

I’d go so far as to say impossible. It would have to be a different beast entirely, like Fords GT was.

    What is SRT working on...?

Would love to see a mid-engined hellcat, but there’s just no way to make it affordable. I mean if you want to build a dozen and sell then for >$200,000 then yeah, by all means, but that’s nowhere near Dodges mission statement.
