If that's your primary reasoning that the investment has been a wast then that is a little short sited, ignoring the positives that have come from the investments. Also volume trims have enjoyed some trickle down from their more premium brethren. And you can't really act like going Euro in 3 yrs...
There are about a dozen threads on allpar complaining about the same things. Do we really need a new thread on a different site to start the same discussion? Or can those discussions just carry on over there?
I'm not sure how you can make a sane argument that Dodge's investment in current cars...
The wayout concept, but lose the tent and raise bed rack a few inches taller so lumber/ladders can span flat from bed rack to roof rack. Perfect work truck. I'd go for different rims though.
I'd been searching for the GM and Ford leaks for monthly sales with no luck. Thanks for the post. I figured that they were hard to find for a reason...
Silverado/Sierra should be selling huge after the launch of their ad campaign in Jan, selling both 2018 and 2019, and some incentives.
If...
I am not using EPA figures as my guide. I am using fuelly, utilizing the average hand calculated MPG results of thousands of Ram, Ford, and GM vehicles driven over millions of miles.
My 04 returned 13.2 after 50k miles. Right in line with Fuelly suggested average.
My 15 is returning 15.1 after...
I wouldn't hold my breathe that a turbo I6 is going to achieve dramatically better fuel economy real world. Especially if tuned for higher performance than the current 5.7.
I know it may be nearing the end of its life, but it is not a poor performer. It is also practically the only mainstream...
The "5.7 is one of the least efficient engines" is really a myth, per analysis of real world reporting on Fuelly.
For trucks, it lags the 6.2, 5.3, 5.0, and 3.5 EB by only 0.5-1 MPG or roughly 5-10%. The 6.2 requires premium. The 5.3 produces less power and is in a lighter truck. The gen 3 5.0...
I'm inclined to agree. The new 7.3 is the big question...and what Ford will rate it...and if they bring a version to the F150/Raptor.
I'll be supremely disappointed in Ram if they do not bring the 426 to the 1500. But we can't even get a 6.4, so....
No worries, but your guess is false. I admit i do not have a lot of OTR high gross towing experience. I also trust ZF that 10 speed is not huge improvement over 8. 8 is nice, and i'm sure will be an improvement when it comes (i own 2 FCA ZF 8 speeds after all), but there are challenges in low...
And the class 4 and 5 trucks ram just debuted will be strong performers. Yes those are small volume classes but Ram p/u should experience growth there.
Trucks.com article has some insites...
Couple things.
I think Ram HD will be just fine. 10 speed with high torque diesel will be interesting....i'm glad Ram is on the sidelines seeing how it will play out for GM and Ford. Those 10 speeds also cost a lot to develop. I'll bet most of the time, 1st gear will be locked out. And when...
I wondered about that as well...but having one portion fold down would have be been much more complicated as you'd need a pretty rigid pivot in the center split that can also release when one side swings out.
