Why? I guess most Giuliettas were sold with 120 hp. The Tonale starts with 130 + 20 electric. And if there is demand they can always sell a lower powered PHEV, higher powered 1.5 (190 + 20 electric?) or offer the 2.0 in Europe.
Want to see more of the interior now. Seats look fab!
I think the studio pictures don't do it justice, the tonale looks much better under natural lighting or in the background of the presenters. And I think the 1.5 engines might be very good options, just not top power, but good for the European market.
3 minutes to the official event:
At last! Will they start with a launch edition? Will they present more of Alfa's future ahead of the Stellantis data stack March 1st? La Metamorfosi as Alfa Day 2022?
Looks good on the picture. But judging from real pictures with people standing next to the Airflow, the car is way too high/big for a convertible. For example on this header pic: Chrysler CEO, Chris Feuell Spills Some Details About Additional Chrysler Vehicles!
The First Italian Brand to compete in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship from 2023

There are also quite many in the streets here since it's part of the local Ford portfolio – but it still stands out as an American muscle car, not blending into the regular European coupé market like iDrive suggested.
Actually my brother drives the current Mustang V8 and it is still pretty much an exotic here in Germany. By design and powertrain.
A premium Coupé like the BMW 4 starts with a 184 hp 2.0T without generating image problems in Europe. V6 only left for the high-end versions.
Current insider claims. It doesn't look like they simply take the Jeep powertrains from three years ago.

Here's the interview: Alfa Gets Amped, Readies to Go All-Electric
He says from 2027 only electrified Alfas (in North America), only BEV two years later. I guess that's when the first Tonale will go out of sale.
Seems like the November presentation was for the dealers in Rüsselsheim (and elsewhere?).
There's a new interview out:
The 20 keys to the new Alfa Romeo, told by Mesonero-Romanos: "neither retro cars nor just SUVs".
According to this, only the Tonale design had been fixed before his arrival...
Strange plan. Why start in the UK in 2022?
1. the European market where Lancia was absent for the longest time, since they sold the cars as Chryslers.
2. their only right hand drive market. Worth it?
3. no new product until 2024. Why restart with an old product from 2011?
Another indicator is the planned succession of CMP with CMP v2 in 2023/2023 when they could have renamed to STLA Small already if that was the surviving/dominating branch.
