For what? The market for "capable" mini SUVs is very small in Europe, even 4X4 is mostly overkill in B-segment. I don't think this is meant to compete with a Suzuki Jimny or Panda 4X4 (or Lada Niva).
Modern: Proper BEV version, drive assistance, infotainment. But I didn't compare ICE engines and space.
Nice looking: Looks good enough for driving the passenger version as a family car. Not but-ugly like the current Doblo, specially pre-facelift.

So what about the Chrysler/Dodge minivan, even selling one product (Pacifica/Voyager) twice under the same brand? What about the Fiat Tipo/Dodge Neon? I don't remember when the Chrysler/Lancia fiasco ended … PSA did this only for commercial vans, like everyone else.
The STLA platforms are designed for battery and hybrid vehicles. PSA has built BEV or PHEV and ICE versions of Peugeot and Opel cars on the same line for years now.
