Also this adds visibility, but sadly not on the streets: Alfa Romeo agree multi-year extension with Sauber to remain in Formula 1 Thank you, heartless bean counters! :p...

Absolutely! I wish models for both. But if I have to decide between more models for US dealers or for EU dealers: EU dealers! Why? The US never had more than 2,5 – but the EU dealers suffer going down from 4,5 (again) to 2 rather expensive models. But I don't think they plan to ignore the US...

That's true. But you can't just focus on the short term margins. If you're not a luxury, exotic car builder, you need a certain level of sales to keep your product visible in public, to keep your dealers/garages and plants busy, to fund advertising and product development. 60k sales/year...

So good to see a dedicated Alfa boss on site after years of remote, on the side management! Imparato yesterday:

They say so. DS and Lancia are just planned to expand around their home markets. So of course Alfa must offer product that appeals outside of Europe. But the brand has to expand from a strong home base. It doesn't help if it sells 15k E-SUVs globally instead of 100k B-SUVs mainly in Europe. The...

Yes, the B- and C-segment models are so much more important for Alfa's survival then E-segment. Also for my personal driving pleasure. ;) But I understand it's importance for American and Asian markets. If not that rumored GC sister car, do a next Levante sister car! I don't see much market for...

Stellantis’ Opel Brand Teases It’s All-New Astra Just Weeks Before It’s Debut!

Opel's chief designer is the Englishman Mark Adams. The design happens in Rüsselsheim, Germany. The current brand design is intended to express particularly "Germanness" according to the PR department.

Not really. It's about your repeated emphasis on nationality at the forums, not your relatives. That doesn't lead to anything but hostility and split. That French guy has a name and an individual character. Plus Italian roots, long personal history with the brand and many years of work in...

Where does your nationalistic thinking come from? Italian culture is also closer to me than French culture, but why keep harping on that? International companies don't work that way.

Stellantis’ Opel Brand Teases It’s All-New Astra Just Weeks Before It’s Debut!

Photos of the new Astra are out: https://www.netcarshow.com/opel/2022-astra/ Nice! Got a shorter snout, flatter, wider. Sharp but rather clean design. Big step for Opel. I'm just no fan of those huge digital screen cockpits.

    Alfa Romeo News

Alfa boss Imparato recently gave interviews/comments to La Stampa and other media: “We don’t sell electric, we sell sportiness” “I wanted an impactful message for the audience: a second passed on the screen but it aroused a thousand reactions”. Jean-Philippe Imparato laughs when he is asked...

Stellantis Electric Vehicle Day on July 8, 1 hour before Wall Street open

But where is it? Is it the B-SUV from Tychy or completely canceled? Or will the current generation continue until a Centoventi-Panda BEV reaches acceptable price levels in 5-10 years?

Stellantis Electric Vehicle Day on July 8, 1 hour before Wall Street open

70% LEV* sales, not BEV. And you forgot Alfa, Maserati, Lancia & Jeep. As it looks politically, there won't be much ICE sales after 2030 for any passenger car. You know why they could picke Fiat for that goal? Because there's no current ICE product on the market. Easy to go electric fast. Not...

Stellantis Electric Vehicle Day on July 8, 1 hour before Wall Street open

We might mean the same thing in the end. When calling it evolution, those evo steps look far bigger than one could have feared with renamed current platforms in your mind. From what is on the market/public: eMini doesn't offer PHEV currently, CMP neither, EMP2 doesn't offer BEV, Giorgio no major...

Stellantis Electric Vehicle Day on July 8, 1 hour before Wall Street open

Of course it's based on their existing tech and experiences. But it's not just normal evolutions of the current platforms with that modular platform/EDM/battery/driveline matrix across the range. I think they made the decision to bring BEV+PHEV platforms after much thinking. Otherwise consumers...

Stellantis Electric Vehicle Day on July 8, 1 hour before Wall Street open

According to this: Yes! They announced Abarth going electric in 2024. But I guess that's on e-Mini (current 500e). I don't think they installed a prominent Alfa North America manager if the brand was to fade out there.

To get more clarity, the presentation: https://www.stellantis.com/content/dam/stellantis-corporate/investors/events/stellantis-ev-day-2021/ev_day_2021_presentation_slides.pdf Some bits which might not be clear: The powertrains ("EDM") are not fixed to the platforms, but modular elements. So...

Where Are the EV Charging Stations ?

I have 8 in a 2 km radius, 40k town. Electro companies can build them up very quick if demand is there. And I'm lucky to live in my own house, so could have my own wall box and even solar roof. A friend of mine is in the process of that currently.
