THIS!!! If you're over 50 and in the market for an Italian "Mid-life Crisis-mobile" a hot coupe at $50,000 shouldn't be a stretch...especially when guys are buying Dodges for as much.
NB. I half-jokingly refer to my sub-$40k Challenger R/T I bought 10 years ago as my "Mid-life Crisis-mobile."
If by "electric charging station" you mean a multi-point charging facility specifically for that purpose on dedicated real estate, I don't see where such a thing would exist as a stand-alone entity aside from as part of a service center on a toll road, or similar, where you might need to do...
Virtually anything considered "new tech" is expensive at first, the early adopters buy in, create interest and generate investors, etc., costs get reduced by mass production and sales. This is generally true of mass produced high tech consumer goods. Computers come to mind, in particular. Every...
Holding on by a string because, like much of old FCA, it's been STARVED. That's not a "Chrysler loyalist" problem. That's a decades-running corporate destruction of customer good will.
Yeah, I think the typical current urban/suburban c-store model doesn't really work for BEVs like it does for ICEs. It actually makes c-stores superfluous for "fueling," since you don't require an environmental and safety environment specifically for charging like you do for volatile fuels, don't...
Right now? Probably a PHEV. Down the road, a BEV, but I could buy that now, because I'll probably keep the diesel Jeep (08 GC) anyway for towing, and the Challenger has the lifetime powertrain warranty. Plus, it's an 09 Challenger R/T M6, and to date, the only new vehicle I've ever purchased.
A nonsensical requirement. Given home charging, and charging at other stopping points such as hotels, restaurants, Interstate rest stops, etc, a 10-15 minute charge is acceptable. Plus, your closing assumption is probably wrong. Never-land is a dangerous place to go.
Regulated utilities are not...
The state is still responsible for having it contracted out, since it owns the facility. It's no different from the service centers like found on toll routes. I'd say if it's not close to an exit with services, it should have chargers.
Where in Chicago are you going that you can park a full size pickup? Doesn't sound like downtown.
They would be stupid not to have that done. The power is already there, though it may need an upgrade. Truck recharging may require some lot redesign. Some places may benefit from locating solar...
I've seen them all over Europe. Every gas station I've been to in Europe was a C-store. All of the Autobahn rest areas in Germany have them, and I even remember a brand new one outside the base (Yavoriv) in rural NW Ukraine in March 2018, which was in what looked like an otherwise economically...
No, you really DON'T need to be able to drive 300 miles, fill up in 5 minutes, and drive another 300 miles. Tell me how often you actually drive 300 miles, stop, fill up in 5 minutes and POOF get on your way without doing something that takes at least 15 minutes, toilet break, grab a drink...
Having driven considerably in Germany, I learned that typical EU speed limits tend to be roughly equivalent to US MPH usage.
Restricted sections of rural autobahns and some sections of multi-lane highways are 120 KPH which is 75 MPH
Rural highways are 100 KPH which, as stated, is 62 MPH. This...
Which was always B.S., since it was neither.
Heck, BMWs don't even all mimic the Bucktooth M4. The newest 2ers look pretty good still.
At any rate, as long as it doesn't look like THIS "abomination of desolation." Charger 911 or New Neon?
Well, for starters, don't make appliances?
It's a literal "hair" over 80 MPH (80.8 to be more exact). That's well more than a hair under 100. If you're doing 100 MPH, that's ~160 KPH.
