It's not very hard to imagine how good this vehicle should be. Take current Durango for size, with GC looks and offroad settings, and add some Stelvio handling.
What's better?
To be growing in a soft market
To be flat in a soft market
To be shrinking in a soft market
One of these applies to Ram, one to Ford, one to GM. Please let me know which one to put lipstick on.
Ram is just starting 2nd yr production of a new model, still producing an old model...
I though 100 day supply is about the target?
Ram 100+ days of supply, +22% YTD, trying to grow government and commercial sales with classic, trying to grow retail sales with low price point classic and 5th gen, and switching over to updated HDs.
Q1 ATP was up, incentive spending was down...
This weekend is two weekends before 5/29, which was the time displayed in the Respect the Beast commercial....the one that ends with "respect the beast, but don't wake the monster" and a stomping sound, which sounded eerily similar to the stomping sound in the 426 hellephant teaser videos...
Can't help but think, maybe there is a challenger ACR coming. Widebody with carbon fiber bits
Before There Was HELLCAT, There Was The Challenger SRT-10 Concept: - Mopar Insiders
I don't think Ram going to the 8 speed for the 19 HDs can be understated. It is really a big improvement. Not that the 6 speed is worthless, just not ideal for the HD 6.4.
I almost ended up in a SRW 3500 6.4 with 4.10s. Liked the test drive. Glad i ended up in a 1500 for now but i'll likely...
I must be a rare bread. I'm a Ram guy because i grew up Mopar. I follow 5th gen rams, moparinsiders, and allpar. HDrams is blocked by my computer for some reason. And i think the dodge lineup is the most exciting it has ever been in my lifetime...though i dearly miss the viper.
This is also interesting because of recent rumors of others going to IRS on full size pickups...So Ram will be prepared to do that if need be based on what they learn from wagoneer development.
Excited to finally see mules on the road
Mr @Muther did you get and indication of timeline? that would narrow it down.
OK so if not Dodge WBcharger or challenger, and we already expect a Ram TRX, and durango hellcat, then what else could there be....
Chrysler
The least likely brand for an SRT playground, unless they bring a new...
Very interesting.
Now Ford is partnering to an extent with VW, FCA is out of debt, Barra has had her chance to run GM, and may have slightly damaged her backing by the US establishment/top GM investors.
They will still need something to compete with the 6.2 and 3.5 HO i think....whether that is the HD 6.4 or SRT 6.4 or the I6 i dont know, but it will hopefully be available on more trims than just the TR. Hopefully an option on Laramie or above and include the Rebel or TR.
I love the 5.7 but...
Oh i thought you were referring to the engines offered in TRX. For tech, yes there has been some trickle down. For engines recently they ramp up to the more powerfull engine, not debut with it, which was the case with grand cherokee and now rumored with the durango. For TRX it seems unclear we...
Hasn't it typically been the other-way-round, though? 6.4 first then hellcat later? I suppose this time unless we are surprised with a 6.4 option in the 1500 first before 2022 the hellcat will lead the way unless the new six debuts in ram at the same time which i highly doubt.
