The Hurricane is such a failure. So much additional cost and complexity vs the Pentastar and for what? A 1 MPG increase? Doesn't make any sense.
Nobody who has a Pentastar in their current vehicle is really lusting over a Hurricane if the Hemi is being brought back. Given the choice between the...
Believe me, they won't lower the price. The price will remain the same and the powertrain will have regressed. It's a net move backward.
Unfortunately, I've asked all the insiders I know (Bob, TK, Butter Da Insider) if the Pentastar will still be offered / if it might come back ala the Hemi in...
If you think Grand Cherokees sales are bad now (temporary plant shutdown week of April 28th), just wait until the 2026s start rolling into the lots. It's incredible that Pre-Covid (2019), the single five seat Grand Cherokee sold 242,000 units, out of a single plant.
Today, with two plants and...
No one wants anything of what you’ve described.
No to turbo fours - go buy a Mustang or Explorer if that’s your cup of tea.
I bought my Grand Cherokee because it was a RWD based unibody vehicle with a NA V6, which were increasingly rare.
With this new change, I’m out. May go take a look at...
"Jeep is replacing both the long-running 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 with an all-new turbocharged 2.0-liter GME-T4 EVO inline-four-cylinder engine."
Bigger screens, ever shrinking powertrain. There's no difference between Jeep and Toyota when you're talking competing head to head with a sub 2L four banger. Guess which one Customers are going to pick? Guess which ones existing CDJRs owners are going to pick if the proposition of a better...
A signifiant number of existing owners are going to pass on the refreshed 2026 Grand Cherokee because of the move from the V6 Pentastar to a four cylinder (GME-T4).
This is an absolutely disaster that will cost the company 150,000+ lost sales until the next generation Grand Cherokee in calendar...
Looks like the EZ-60 is replacing it - https://www.motor1.com/news/757043/mazda-ez-60-range-extender/
"the EZ-6 can travel up to 808 miles (1,300 km) with its range extender, rivaling some long-haul European diesels."
"31.7-kWh battery that delivers 88 miles (160 kilometers)"
That's perfect...
Range Extended EVs are series hybrids.
Series hybrid is better because Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep would control their own destiny and would build their own engines (to power the battery) and motors (which they've already designed for the crappy pure EVs, but at least they can be repurposed) ...

That's incredible.
Imagine if Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep used this same technology in STLA Large vehicles -
This is what Ram is doing with the Ramcharger 1500. To my knowledge, no one has done this yet in a E or D segment unibody vehicle. The BYD Shark (smaller frame-platform pickup) is a series hybrid. But...
What do you want? This is the only remaining company offering V6s and V8s. And that is exactly what I want - RWD based vehicle, frame or unibody, with a V6 or V8. I will never buy any other vehicle that doesn't have these characteristics.
I could care less how old the body in white / vehicle...
Absolutely horrific product planning circa 2020-2021 + Tavares caused this.
If they would have listened to my product planning posts on this forum, they would not be in the mess they are in now.
The next mess is the 2026 Grand Cherokee four banger EVO-T4 disaster.
As I’ve stated in previous...
“Dodge will adapt by limiting EV sales to custom orders for the 2026 model year, our sources say.”
Literally called it, along with the EV program being cancelled by the 2027 MY.
Damn I am good 😎
