There is only one Ferrari. Only one car is known for floatplane V8 and... And V12.
Crossplane OHV V8 are American thing.
BTW. Just imagine Maserati with floatplane V8. It would be ridiculous.
Maserati was well known for their crossplane V8s. Which Manley killed.
@cygnus
Well... First of all we should see prediction and sales numbers by engine, cabin type, and so on and on. By FoMoCo, GM and Stellantis. Then we may draw some conclusion.
To be honest I'm not against GME T6, I'm for it but I'm also not for it as the sole engine option.
@cygnus
I doubt that it's because of lack of V8 or solely because of it.
A lot of wrong decisions from Stellantis, bothched car launches, BEV only craze...
Who? John Elkann?
I'm not sure if he is even in a fight against his mother for Exor shares. It's not nice.
On the other hand in my opinion here at Stellantis a lot of concessions are being asked and pushed by French Government. Lets not forget that France is one of the 3 major Stellantis...
Disagree.
Sergio got the company in a very bad shape. High interest rates and not so great or very limited cash flow.
For example first dividends by FCA were paid in 2018. Gues when he/Sergio died?
Most developments were already firing under all cylinders under Sergio. A lot was killed or...
It's far from rosey. Product or powertrain development decisions made and pushed by French have been proved wrong so far, on both sides of the pond.
You know. We got the new Grande Panda which actually looks like Panda without drawbacks, first such ex FCA product on PSA platform but then...
@pumadog
If I'm not mistaken Tonale with 1.5 130 HP has better acceleration figures than 408 with 1.2 136 HP. I would say that they are more or less comparable products in terms of weight and size if not height.
Not to mention that they were able to make a peppier high performance version with weight savings, more advanced AWD and with 2.0 in mid 300 if not high 300 HP.
Not fan of this exterior colour. Looks like a PSA colour pallete.
To me FCA did a better job with more cheerful colours.
Hey, but that's me. Someone may think they are awful.
It depends on what is one expecting from an engine but surely 1.5 GSE T4 130 is tad quicker than 1.2 EB3 136 and lets not forget that there is a 1.5 GSE T4 160.
Why there isn't higher end 1.5 engine? Well... A lot of development was already killed by Manley like some higher end more powerful...
Hmh... Nothing doesn't operate like a DCT nowadays if it's electrified.
Both torque converter and DCT transmission have electric creeping function. They are electric up to 20 or 30 km/h.
I'm talking about 2.5 MHEVs. They operate more like a full hybrids, nothing like a MHEV you've used before...
Don't forget that CMP is in its origins low cost C segment platform for Chinese market which PSA inherited from Dongfeng.
That means that in the first place it's cheap to make while for B/subcompact segment it lacks interior space. Packaging just isn't right, it isn't efficient.
Yes, this is a...
Yea yeah
Luca de Meo in the picture.
Stellantis is getting worse in Europe by each year, market share. Around 21 or 22% some five years ago, 16% today.
VAG is being rock solid over those 5 years.
This is far from certain. But...
Anyway by each year EU market share is detoriating.
I must also add that IMO platform strategy and also electrification strategy is just wrong. Pricing is... Excessively high for some products.
And forcing PSA platforms and powertrains is just wrong.
It's just a rumor... Sort of it. But even Italian magazine Quattroruote has written about him as an outgoing CEO.
Also L'argus, french web site, which is usually right about ex PSA, has written that there was a disagreement between Elkann and Tavares about some future projects.
Elkann has...
