GM Loses Money On Every 2020 Corvette Under $80,000

True but again, like the Viper, how many generations can it go before technology/regulation/market/etc. turns the tables and suddenly the business case goes from a no brainer to a 50/50 proposition to a hard sell. The Corvette has the unlikely history of mid-engine design attempts GM could...

GM Loses Money On Every 2020 Corvette Under $80,000

The Viper was an affordable dream car once too. Times change and for some vehicles, they simply die while others adapt to survive. I wonder how long the Wrangler would’ve survived without introducing the Unlimited model?

GM Loses Money On Every 2020 Corvette Under $80,000

Realistically, I’m sure the sales of the over $80k+ models will more than make up the losses from any base models sold. The low MSRP for the initial base model has been an excellent marketing tool. GM seems to actually have a solid strategy in place for selling the C8.

Dodge Unveils Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition Package In LA:

Gold Jerry, GOLD! I’ve complained before about nothing new but paint and stickers but dang, that gold wide body with a shaker gave me a giddy feeling about the Challenger all over again. Well done Dodge, well done.(y)

Dodge Is Working On A New Performance UV To Replace Journey:

Nice rendering. The charger-esque grill gives an aggressive, wide body performance look. We’ve been waiting too long for the new Dodges to show. I’m hopeful the 2022-23 date is obtainable.

    Durango lose the knob?

I only say work truck because the knob can be viewed as an upscale feature. I admit, the dash looks cleaner without the column shifter. However, after 18 months of use, I am decidedly against ever getting one again if I could. The knob in my tradesman feels like a cheap toy like the internals...

Nutty race. Not sure what the Ferrari team could have done to embarrass themselves more.o_O

Ford Mustang-Inspired Electric Crossover Spied Virtually Uncovered

Wow. The photo of the Mach e flanked by Mustangs really shows how it doesn’t even remotely resemble the pony car. What a joke.

Ford Mustang-Inspired Electric Crossover Spied Virtually Uncovered

I don’t mind the Mustang connection that much but the name mahk-y is a Boston accent nightmare. Bad “grill” design too.

Jeep® Quietly Raises Starting Price Of Gladiator Rubicon:

When you make a highly desirable product, you’ll be amazed at what people will pay for it. Consistently has always been the foil to CDJR’s hot products.

    Durango lose the knob?

Now if I ran the zoo (a highly underrated Dr Seuss book), I’d have the T shift paired with the go-fast models and keep the knob on the sxt and Citadel models. All Chargers get the T shifter and all 300’s would have the knob. Only high trim Rams would get the knob while us working slobs can...

    Durango lose the knob?

Hmm.. weird. Know if it was it a styling or design decision? The knob definitely opens up console space in the Durango. The T-handle is a definite step backwards. I met with the dealer today. They offered a nice deal on a ‘19 Durango but there’s really no reason for me to extend my payment...

    Durango lose the knob?

My local dealer is dangling employee discount pricing, so I’ve been snooping through the new Durango inventory and found the transmission knob has gone back to a more traditional T-lever. When did that happen? I prefer the knob in our 2017 Durango. Not a fan of it in my ‘18 Ram.

Cars that depreciate the least in 5 years

I know right.o_O Since only hard core Honda fanatics are the likely buyers, the perceived value can remain high. Broaden the customer base to general truck buyers and the value would likely tank.

    FCA direction on regulation changes

Very interesting that Subaru, the granola brand, is supporting the Trump plan. Perhaps the issue isn’t that California has a waiver for stricter standards, it’s how so many states are following the CARB rules. I’d grant that Cali has reason for the waiver but other states should have to be...

'Dukes of Hazzard' star John Schneider defends General Lee car

Times change. Even though the Duke boys were the heroes fighting crime, corruption and even racism, the rebel flag motif is no longer a simple expression of southern pride*. I’m sad to see one of my childhood favorite show/car fall out of acceptance but I won’t begrudge those who feel the...

Fiat Chrysler, PSA in merger talks, WSJ says

Yes, mid cycle refreshes. I believe today’s “platform” allows for a longer period between all new models, maybe up to 15 years. Those models should be refreshed more often though, and not just new stickers. I hope more funds will be made available for updated sheet metal, all within...

Fiat Chrysler, PSA in merger talks, WSJ says

I don’t believe we’ll see much of a change with the Mopar brand strategy. I’m hopeful the time between refreshing models will return to a 4-5 year cycle. What I dread is another delusion of grandeur return of Peugeot to NA. Let’s hope they learned from the Fiat example of how not to...

The 2020 Dodge Durango Pursuit Returns To Duty:

The local PD’s run Chargers with a few Durango’s mixed in the fire/rescue squads. MI troopers run Tahoe’s. If the local and state LEO’s are together at a public event, the Dodges always have people checking them out or kid’s standing beside them getting their picture taken.(y)
