For the 11th straight year, Ram Trucks will be front and center helping bring one of America’s biggest holiday traditions to life — the 99th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®. When the nation tunes in to watch giant balloons float above Manhattan and iconic characters roll down the streets, Ram will once again be the muscle behind the magic.

On Wednesday, we talked about how Ram Trucks was returning as the Official Truck Sponsor of the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®. Yesterday, Ram once again proved why it continues to hold that title — putting its toughest trucks and vans to work to ensure the holiday celebration rolled smoothly through the heart of New York City.

I grew up in New York City and was lucky to have wonderful parents who took me to this parade a couple of times. At 80 those memories are still clear and strong, especially the amazing balloons soaring right over my head, it was so great. Thanks Mom and Dad, you made my childhood so special.
As the son of hard working immigrant parents , my Mom from Italy, my Dad from Ireland, and being relatively poor, though I never knew it, a free day out to Manhattan was one special treat. In spite of our limited means, hours of overtime work and double shifts, my father provided me and my brother a Catholic school education, that led to high level white collar careers, solid marriages, very successful children and relative wealth for all through honest work, careful investing and applying the values taught and lived in our home.
Watched the parade on TV yesterday with my kids and memories of my attendance, my children’s attendance and the gifts God has bestowed motivated this post. I wish all a Christmas season of joy and the love that things like a parade your parents brought you to can bring forever. As you might guess from all this, yea it was my Dad who brought me to Mopars with that used Silver 1949 Plymouth he bought so long ago. Lucky me.
