The KM Cherokee is actually a replacement for the WK2 grand Cherokee. Consumers are holding their noses at the Wagoneer S EV which fills in for the SRT and Trackhawk models.
Absolute nothing burger compared to the billions lost on EV variants. Fortunately STLA Large can fit the Hemi.
The Jeep Cherokee KM is built on the STLA Large , but has a transverse engine layout. The current Grand Cherokee WL74 and WL75 models lost their Hemi option after 2023. I think it was a premature decision.
Unlike paying fines for missing CAFE targets, the resources spent on electrification can be recouped. The monies spent are investments. The Ramcharger will use the same batteries, e-motors and electrical architecture as the Ram REV. While the Ram REV seems ill fated, the outlook for the Ramcharger still looks positive. The Dodge and Jeep battery electric models can be fitted and fixed with range extenders.
The only investment in the Dodge Hornet is the front sheet metal and some trim pieces. The PHEV system of the AR Tonale is from a supplier. The PHEV system in the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee 4Xe models is from ZF, Jeep can drop the plug and covert it to a regular hybrid operation using less batteries.
