The minivan Pacifica should have spawned a crossover SUV spinoff years ago. I owned the original Pacifica SUV, which was a minivan spinoff and I loved it. The brakes were inadequate, the transmission, though trouble free, felt a bit weak for the vehicle, But that interior and amazing looks forgave all. Two rows of captain seats, an amazing dash, it was the original crossover. Like the PT Cruiser, it was Chrysler that launched two significant segments they don’t play in today. Really?
Fast forward, next generation Pacifica absolutely should spin off a crossover SUV. They can call it the Town and Country. Maybe call it Atlantica. An ocean of an idea, right? But we are talking Chrysler here, the brand brain trust that canceled the Pacifica and PT Cruiser and gave us the follow the crowd Airflow yawner.
