So even though it has a 2500 chassis and the 8 lug rear end it can only tow a trailer 8750? My Tundra is a 5 lug rear end with the 5.7 and is rated at 10,400 towing. What am I missing? If the 08’ mega cab was built on the 2500 chassis and running gear, why isn’t the towing rated the same as a 2500?

Hello, I am looking at towing a 8-9k bumper pull travel trailer. Everything I have read shows that the 2008 Mega Cab 1500 is a half ton truck but the chassis, suspension, and axles are the same as a 2500. Am I missing something? Would a 1500 with 8 lug rear axle be able to tow the same as a...
