Ram should be able to step ahead in the areas they are behind at the next refresh given the time they’ve had to work on it.
I’d go F250 over F350 simply for ride quality. The 2800-ish payload likely would be fine for what I’d ever need it for.

Any word if Ram will follow GM and Ford with increasing the GVWR on the sticker for the 2500 to get more payload in the 3/4 ton lineup? Specifically need this for the Cummins. I am thinking they need to do this to match Ford and GM but may hold off until they have only the single 5th gen CC...
