@MoparJoe that guy is an idiot.. he has no idea what he is talking about.
I, along with some others was just talking about that guy and his videos the other day. He's an idiot and I don't believe he has any source whatsoever.

Look at the timeline on some of his videos that have believeable stuff, usually he will make a video after we run an article or Allpar does revealing new information. Then he says it's from his source and throws his own flavor all over everything spreading ridiculous rumors.

In one of his widebody charger videos he posts a picture of a red charger with a widebody kit, swears the photo was leaked and is 100% not photoshopped. Well the original non photoshopped picture is on the media site. That's not to say a widebody Charger isn't coming, I think we all know one is at this point.

Hellephant coming to production vehickes? No. Also the only thing shared between the hellephant and the upcoming 426 NA V8 is the displacement. Usually they will make a crate motor out of a production motor, not turn a crate motor into a production motor.

He's also had a few photographers go after him for using spy photos without purchasing them and blurring out the websites name that actually rightfully owns the photos.

Sorry for the rant but I honestly can't stand the guy and the BS that he spreads not to mention the way he goes about it.
Yeah, like I said before, this hlguybjust reads this website, and the other one, then makes a video.

He is exploiting a new market. It takes time and effort to make YouTube videos that people want to watch. It could be something that MoparInsiders could do themselves, and beat him to the punch.

I understand your opinions of him, and no disrespect to any of you intended. The subject of his videos however seemed to align with what Mr. Source recently eludes to on "the other" mopar site. Which is the reason i posted it here.

I think its foolish to NOT believe something sweet is coming in 2021. What exactly there all will be is clearly not for us commoners to know yet and I'm fine with that.

We've also been told they are working on an 8 second car. As far as i know, there have been no articles regarding a vehicle, new or otherwise, that would get us down to 8 seconds.

So seems like charger/challenger will continue on an evolution of current chassis, they will get lighter, they will get more power, they will get more tire. IMO that's basically all this guy was saying in those videos...I know it is nothing really different than what can already be pieced together from articles on this site (although i havent really read of a wide body charger with 325s anywhere else yet that i can think of)...but is it impossible for him to be getting other info/emails from a source, which would align with the new enthusiasm coming from Mr. Source?

I'm still holding out hope for a Cuda, but if Dodge can reach their goals with updated Charger / Challenger platforms then that may be even better.

Folks around here feel this dude is being disingenuous. He doesn't ever have any info that has not already been posted on one of the these two sites. His info is inaccurate. He is not above board on his media/materials. That said, there are a ton of media sources that use this and the other site as “uncredited” sources. Those are often a lot better about "recopying" the material though. At least they are much better about making it appear as their own. It ticks off the folks that own both sites, and do the work when neither site gets the credit. The more responsible sites do give credit where it's due.

I am confident that any new car won’t use the name Barracuda/’Cuda. That is based on what I have read here, and elsewhere. If there is to be a "midsize coupe" for Dodge, it isn't in the five year plan, and nobody thinks one is coming any time soon (sorry).

The Alfa GTV is on the way. It will be Giulia based. They used the four door Charger plati-techture to create the two door Challenger. They will do the same thing with the 4 door Giulia to create the 2 door GTV. There is a group of folks that think all the Barracuda/’Cuda talk was just cover for the development of the GTV, and that there were never plans for an actual Barracuda/’Cuda.

If there was a plan to bring such a car to market, and call it a Dodge, it should be called the Avenger. If you added up all the name recognition of all the car model names, on the entire planet, since the dawn of time, and you put that all together, THAT would not add up to a hill of beans compared to the name "Avenger".

There are uncontacted tribes in the Amazon that could tell you how Avengers-Infinity War ends. THAT is a name FCA cannot afford to let lie unused. Barracuda may have a great and glorious history, but ask a five year old what a Barracuda is and they'll look at you all funny. Then ask them what an Avenger is, and prepare to be regaled. Ask them which car they’d rather ride in, and Avenger, or a Barracuda; 1,000 out of 1,000 will say Avenger.

There is a ton of stuff coming. that is not in doubt. What we are saying is that all that info is available here. I believe earlier in this thread there are folks working to consolidate that data, and put it into news blogs on YouTube, like this guy is doing.

FCA goes in fits and spurts for intro-ing new models. They had issues with a high income to debt ratio, and over production of low margin, low sales vehicles, taking up valuable up manufacturing floor space. So they have spent a ton of money and time changing all that around. They shut down that low margin production (Dart, 200, etc.), and that began a musical chairs with what factory was going to make what model.

That was so that FCA could continue uninterrupted production of each high margin vehicle (and therefore maintain sales, and therefore maintain high revenue and income). This way, they could continue to pay down the debt they had piled up (see the whole Daimler / Cerberus / Bankruptcy / 2008 thing). Doing the factory musical chairs thing has tied up a lot of money that would otherwise have gone to new and better models.

They are still doing the factory shift thing; that will continue for a few more years (see trucks). Now that the bulk is done, though, and now that their effective debt is almost gone, they will have some money (finally) for new and interesting stuff.

It has been a long hard slog, but the folks in charge of FCA have been vindicated (Elkann, Sergio, Manley, et al). They are being viewed as one of the healthiest car companies out there (ask GM and Ford). They all called FCA idiots, and said FCA was doing things wrong. Well… they are NOT saying that now. Ford, and GM are both contracting while FCA is continuing their expansion (see the new factory conversions/expansions). FCA will soon be hiring lifetime employees layed off by GM and Ford (THINK ABOUT THAT).

FCA has a lot of new and fun stuff waiting in the wings, and coming further down the pike. Like Hellcat level stuff and better. They have mundane (though important) stuff coming, too (I mean how exciting is a three row crossover with a waterfall grill and three rows of seats to an enthusiast such as me?).

I absolutely understand the owners of this site and others not liking this fellow, especially if he is not crediting them as the resources for his information. Unfortunately I give folks the benefit of the doubt typically (and maybe i shouldn't for him, since apparently he has not been so honest in the past). He said he has an email source - I took him at his word.

In this instance, since the notification of his video (which popped up on my phone, i didn't know this guy even existed before last week or so) lined up with the timeline of some threads on the other mopar site, I assumed they could be linked, and at least possibly founded in some form of truth.

I agree somewhat on the avenger name. However, I disagree on the Cuda name. No 5 year old knew what the Challenger was back when they brought it to life back in 2008. Or the gladiator for Jeep. So Cuda - why not? Its a great name whether you know the history or not. And it already has a sweet logo. There was also the concept car (like their was a gladiator concept). It could also very well be that no new coup is coming as well.

Very true, and at the end of the day we all tend to put our spin we've seen elsewhere on something but as you mentioned the better sites will cite sources which we always do of course as well. I wrote the article on 5thGenRams breaking the Rebel TR and 426 HEMI, that was picked up by fox news, maxim, basically every automotive website and the majority of them credited 5thGenRams in their articles that is totally fine with me and I thought it was awesome.

That guy is smart in a way that he has a captive audience that likely the majority of don't look for information anywhere else, so he can regurgitate things and say it's from his "source" which very well may be true. Don't get me wrong I have no problem when people share what they've learned, it's a good thing to share knowledge. I just always say cite your sources (when you can, lots of sources want to remain secret). What makes it frustrating for the rest of us is when people spread totally false and or misleading information. The emails and comments we get on our articles about how we are wrong because billy bob whoever said this that and the other completely untrue thing gets a little old.

Another big thing for me is to protect sources, do I know things I haven't mentioned yet? Absolutely but some things can't be talked about until they get to a certain point to protect sources.

Back on track though, do I think the 'Cuda name is coming back? No. Also as far as I remember the 8 second car was never referred to as a production car (I could be wrong my mind is a little foggy right now), but I bet the Hellephant Super Charger SEMA car would run 8s.

Agree 100% on protecting the sources, and i respect you all for doing so. IMO It is possible that all of what he said is false. However it is also possible that what he said (or some of it) is true, and that it should not have been said yet - in which case i understand others needing to "pour water on it" - so i'll not refer to it anymore.

In any case - Manley did state they are working on a 8 second car on Jay Leno's video. He didn't specify it was production, though. Looking back on Dodge and SRT's recent timeline, you'd be crazy not to believe something great is coming in 2021. And considering the recent changes in leadership, the possibility of certain things being green-lighted that were previously on hold or stopped. Maybe the Cuda or something like it is one of them.

The 2 things most talked about with the Challenger for the past year was the 6.2 HO (Redeye) and something for the 50th anniversary. One rumor that has been going around and ResumeSpeed confirmed months ago was the 426 HEMI was going to make it into the current gen Challenger. Whether that is still on track to happen or not I'm not sure as others are saying the 426 will debut in either the Rebel TR or the WL Grand Cherokee, both of those are expected in 2021 as well. As of right now there's nothing really concrete on what it is happening for Dodge in 2021 but I would be shocked if it's a 'cuda. If a new lets say midsized coupe was coming for the 2021 model year there would likely be some shortened Challenger mules out running around but we haven't seen or heard of anything like that yet.

Don't forget the "Not a Viper" Dodge Grand Touring coupe is set to debut around 2021-2022, it will be based off the upcoming Alfa GTV platform. It's very possible information is getting crossed up.

I actually just saw his newest video, I could only stomach about 4 minutes of it but all I'm going to say is LOL. Looks like some others are on to him as well.

Funny how last week we posted an article by @redriderbob about the possibility of a street truck coming.

Maybe he does have someone emailing him as an insider that's just having fun with him and seeing what they can get him to say.

Also think about it like this, why would a source pick him when there are way bigger Mopar YouTube channels out there.

All I'm saying is don't get your hopes up for anything you see from him.

It just creates unrealistic expectations which is why when something does come, people just complain about it because they were expecting something else so it's frustrating for actual insiders and FCA.
