Strange no mention of a "Hellcat" or even Red Eye engine variant.. so those two engines haven't been mentioned.. and we do know that Milous has confirmed a Trackhawk version for 2021.

My take on this. Some if not all variants of GME T6 will be a P2 MHEV but they are waiting for a 4th gen ZF 8HP namely ZF 8HP80. It will have 25 kW electric motor which will also fead electric supercharger.

I'm also wondering if the GME-6T delay is resulting in delays developing some new vehicles, particularly for Dodge and Chrysler. Not a bad idea to make sure the powertrain is ready prior to announcing a new vehicle, but I hope something happens soon.

I will repeat and it's very simple. Is it a P2 MHEV? A MHEV where electric motor is on the transmission input. If it is than we must wait for 2022 because that's when the 4th gen ZF 8HP will be available.

Currently there are just 3 competitors with Inline 6 engines. The only one which has uninterrupted history of an Inline 6 is a BMW. That's also the only one Inline 6 which is not a MHEV.
On the other hand both Daimler and JLR have returned to Inline 6 ways very recently. In both cases their Inline 6 are exclusively as a P2 MHEV with addition of an electric supercharger at low rpm to eliminate turbo lag.

Speaking about ZF 8HP 4th generation. Electric motor power is up to 25 kW for MHEV and 160 kW for PHEV. HEV is not mentioned.
Just for comparison 2nd gen goes up to 15 kW for MHEV, 40 kW for HEV and 90 kW for PHEV.

I know that on the Italian side FCA is working on a P2 MHEV ZF 8HP80. That's a 4th gen ZF 8HP.

It's better the release an all new car with old reliable powertrain then all new everything. Better to prevent any issues so if any issues do come up it's easier to sort out, also you can add teh engine later to bring some people back to it

Well, I was waiting for the WL Grand Cherokee to see if the GME-6T would live up to the hype. But I guess what both of you and Bili are saying makes sense.

After having a I6 in my Ascender I can say there is nothing like a straight 6 . They are a lot smoother with less vibration . They are a lot less buzzy than the Pentastar V6 . I have that in our minivan and the straight 6 is noticably smoother with better power delivery . I hope there is a I6 coming . Wish they had it already for the current Durango that I just ordered , that would have been sweet .

And that is an old GM Vortec I6. Imagine how smooth a modern one will be.
