The Gist On The 2019 Dodge Challenger 1320 Drag Pack:
Demon Goodies Come To The Challenger R/T Scat Pack!

Dodge Challenger Prototype (Mopar Insiders)

For the past year, the Mopar community has been hearing about a new Dodge Challenger coming called the "Drag Pack". This is not to get confused with the specialty Mopar-licensed track only Dodge Challenger Drag Pak cars that come powered by the a 426 HEMI or a supercharged 354 HEMI for NHRA-sanctioned racing. But a street Dodge Challenger with some goodies from the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon that would trickle down the lineup.

Many people assumed (including us) that the car would be based on the SRT HELLCAT. However, that is not true. Instead the car will be called the "1320 Drag Pack" and will be available on Challenger R/T Scat Pack as a late-availability option. This car will be power by the 6.4-liter 392 HEMI and will again get some of the SRT Demon's drag racing goodies.

One of those goodies will be the SRT Performance Pages equipped with "Drag Mode". In the "Drag Mode" settings the car will be able to activate it's Drag Mode suspension. Drag Mode suspension tuning maximizes weight transfer to the rear wheels for better traction. Drag Mode Launch Assist uses wheel speed sensors to watch for driveline-damaging wheel hop at launch and in milliseconds modifies the engine torque to regain full grip and then continues accelerating the car down the track. Of course Line Lock will be standard as well.

Like the SRT Demon the 1320 Drag Pack will be available from the factory to come with a deleted rear seat as well as a deleted front passenger seat. On the SRT Demon the deleted rear seat saved 55 pounds, while the passenger seat saved 58 pounds. Both the driver seat and the passenger seat will be available for $1.

Unlike the SRT Demon, the car will feature a set of 275/40R20 tires, so no widebody on this ride. Tires will be Nitto NT555r drag radials on a set of the same wheels that are currently available on the Dodge Charger Daytona 392 and Dodge Challenger T/A 392.

The 1320 Drag Pack will also come with a 3.70 rear axle. The car will only be available with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car itself will be a late-availability option, so expect it to arrive in showrooms around spring 2019. As for pricing, we are hearing that the package will be around a $4,000 option on the R/T Scat Pack model.

I wonder how much the 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times changed. Looks awesome!

Thanks for the article @Mike V. Been checking in at Carlisle, would be interesting if Dodge snuck one if these in to see if anyone would notice. They like to do cool things there...like the burnout to introduce the Hellcat when few people knew what it was.

I like the idea of making a mini-Demon without the Hellcat Hemi.

Dodge knows what the Challenger is and continues to make a lineup around the Challenger's strengths. Awesome!

I agree, there are so many different models that are appealing for different reasons. I'd have a hard time choosing as well.
