The Fiat 500X Returns To North America With A Few New Tricks Up It’s Sleeve!

The Fiat 500X Returns To North America With A Few New Tricks Up It’s Sleeve!

The Turbocharged Compact Crossover Gain A Soft-Top Option For 2022...

The Fiat 500X returns to the American and Canadian markets, as the sole brand product for the 2022 model year. While the FIAT brand has struggled to gain any traction in either market for the past decade, Stellantis North America hasn’t counted the Italian brand out yet.

Enter the 2022 Fiat 500X. While the compact crossover might look identical to last year’s model, there is a new option that might intrigue a lot of customers who might not have considered the brand before.

You can not slap a winged badge on this puppy and have sales numbers go up by any measurable amount. The style does not follow the language of the brand, nor the tastes of a historic Chrysler customer who you can't suddenly alienate (see Olds, Bill Naps, and Commodore for case studies). Buick has done a better job of transition.

The size and shape of the vehicle does fit well though - as it is PT Cruiser size. The interior and Exterior scream Italian though which has a niche in the U.S. and CA.

I missed something. If they want to sell Fiats they need to be sold at all CDJR in good standing and it needs to be more than one model. Should be new 50e, the Panda or it new replacement, and the TIPO cross.

Nice to have alternative to the Renegade but it needs more dealers and need some partner models.

It wouldn't be hard to slap on a Chrysler badge and offer the 500X as a new alternative to the PT Cruiser. Less marketing for another brand, dealership structure already there, and Chrysler brand is better identified than the FIAT brand in North America.

Might be possible for the Panda and Tipo Cross but would be hard sell on 500 unless you called them Chrysler 500.... and how does that work with 300?? They are uniquely familiar to fiat.
