Why is the real-world range of the Avenger being argued about? Aren't there owner forums where the truth is already discerned at this point?

I agree with DC that any EV that STLA has available for sale today is not really competitive, relative to the EV competition in Europe.
Owner forums only show singular experiences. Platforms like spritmonitor.de will show the overall picture, but it's not listed yet. Almost all competition in the B-segment comes from Asia, because most European car companies struggle with this financial task. From Europe only the Zoe comes to my mind, but it's currently an old 0 NCAP stars vehicle. I'm interested in the upcoming Renault R5. Let's see what Peugeot will present with the new 3008 on STLA Medium this fall.

PS. let's not forget the best A-segment EV on the market: Fiat 500e

The last I read the new 3008 would only come out in 2025. If it comes out next year, then Stellantis has hope.
A bit of positive news (also for my home country) is that the Stellantis factory for commercial vehicles in Portugal (around 70k units per year) will shift to produce EVs of these models from 2025. Not sure if this is an expansion while maintaining current ICE production lines, but this will lead to an increase in workers from 850 to 1300 in total.
They are also planning a LFP battery factory for Portugal or Spain. LFP batteries are cheaper than NMC batteries and last much longer. They have lower energy density but they are the best for lower cost vehicles like the B-segment models that Stellantis sells now.

Avenger is B-segment? Weird, I thought it was C.

No, it's B-segment like all the CMP platform vehicles excluding the Citroen C4.
The C4 is a low cost C-segment vehicle, hence why it uses the CMP platform.
