Granted the numbers are January and February with the big European spring season that going through chip shortage , but nevertheless beating VW is good.

''Stellantis is off to a great start following its official establishment earlier this year. The newly-founded manufacturer is currently the largest automaker in Europe by the number of sales during the first two months of the year. And yes, this means it’s beating Volkswagen Group.''

''According to data from European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), Stellantis has delivered a total of 480,888 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in the 30 European countries the organization tracks. Against that, Volkswagen Group has shifted 452,400 vehicles from all its brands, giving Stellantis an advantage of about 28,500 more vehicles sold in January and February 2021 .A huge contributor to Stellantis’ great results was Peugeot. In February, the French had the two top-selling models on the Old continent with the 208 taking the crown with 18,351 sales, followed by the 2008 crossover based on the same platform with 16,845 deliveries. The Volkswagen Golf was third, followed by the Renault Clio and Toyota Yaris. ''

With COVID-19 in the game this results are not so relevant. Similar or same with 2020.

Any win against '' German Domination'' is good .........
VW+Ford is bigger, but still;)
Ah... And this is still not a passenger car win. This is what Average Joe looks for.

Besides Golf sales are at suspiciously low levels. Something is off.

But VW been focusing on LCV's hence the appeal of Ford to VW as they (LCV) are higher margin products.

The current Golf has an ugly face and horrible dashboard controls. And then VW tries to shift the customers to the ID.3. Of course T-Roc and Tiguan eat sales as well.

The current generation of VW cabin controls is a disaster - a confusing mixture of touch and physical buttons, and some poorly thought-out software behind it. This is a shocking lapse for a company that used to do this kind of ergonomic design so well -- for example: when was the last time you even remembered what a VW's controls were like?

It's the first time they want to go "all digital". And claim to develop this on their own.

Lack of physical buttons is usually a cost cutting measure.
