Our Photographers Have Caught The Base Off-Roader Again, But We Get A More Detailed Look...
Several weeks ago, one of our spy photographers caught the 2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman Power Wagon doing some testing around the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Auburn Hills campus. While those pictures were shot from quite a distance away, it was our first look at the new Power Wagon in its base form.
Now our spy photographers have caught the truck again, doing some testing. This time we get a much more detailed look at the more affordable version of Ram’s most capable off-road Heavy Duty truck.

The 2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman Power Wagon comes only in a Crew Cab Short Box (6-foot, 4-inch) configuration. Equipped with the standard 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 power with cylinder deactivation and Variable Cam Timing (VCT) delivers class-leading 410 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque. Now equipped with a smooth-shifting TorqueFlite 8HP75 eight-speed automatic sourced from ZF, the Power Wagon will get even better fuel economy to match the added capabilty.
Thanks to the BorgWarner sourced manual shift (BW 44-47) transfer case, the 2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman Power Wagon gets an improved gear reduction ratio (crawl ratio) of 2.64:1. This delivers increased low-speed torque capability for pulling power and improved driver control in off-road conditions.
