If a company doesn't pay competitively for the job, whether it's a laborer or CEO, you won't attract a person with competitive skills. Personally, I'd like to see more CEO's being compensated based more on performance and bonuses that get paid to their workers, so if the workers don't get a bonus, neither does management.
