One of the best things about Roadkill Nights isn’t the racing on Woodward Avenue, but registration for big event. It’s a chance to see the competition, check out some amazing cars and meet some new friends. This year was no exception.

Featuring two classes for drag racing this year, Big Tire and Small Tire, a cash purse of $30,000 is up for grabs. As part of the overall $40,000 purse, the largest cash purse ever offered at “Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge,” an additional $10,000 will be awarded to the celebrity showdown race winner’s charity of choice.

Both drag racing classes will have the same payout structure with $15,000 as the total purse per class:

  • Winner – $5,000
  • Runner Up – $1,500
  • Semi Finalists – $750 (2 payouts)
  • Quarter Finalists – $500 (4 payouts)
  • Fastest Dodge-powered vehicle – $5,000
With that kind of money up for grabs, some pretty amazing cars have shown up in Metro Detroit to bash it out on Woodward Avenue.

This afternoon we seen a little bit of everything going through tech inspection. We seen a bunch of SRT HELLCATs (in both Challenger and Charger), a couple of SRT Demons, classic Mustangs, Big-Block Camaros, a FIAT 500 Abarth, B-Body Coronets, 60s Chargers with twin turbos and even Nick Filippides from American Racing Headers HELLCAT-powered Prius.
