Thanks to our good friends at the Brazilian automotive site Autos Segredos, we are learning more details surrounding the launch of the all-new 2022 Fiat Pulse. Known internally as “Project 363”, it wasn’t until recently that FIAT unveiled the vehicle production name after fans voted for it on social media. The Pulse is the FIAT Brazil brand’s first compact crossover and is mechanically linked to the popular Argo small hatchback and the Cronos sedan.

Because you want more Fiats.... Me too. Replace Plymouth in the lineup, at every CDJR.

Because he might know how to make a Chrysler out of these Fiats, instead of coming out with excuses.

Excuses??? Pretty sure that the KIA sub, low margin market was abandoned on purpose.... be hard pressed convince management apply resources and capacity to low margin products. Wasn't there a thread for this sort of thing started elsewhere. In Brazil any new product will be either a Jeep or Fiat for local production, they are small, they are down market for NA products. If these product ever come the NA they should not be a Chryslers. they should be FIAT hell even Plymouth but not Chryslers.... nothing says Chrysler like a low margin 1liter economy car???? Imported to all CDJR as Fiats and see what happen....... but hold your gun powder, nothing is more PSA then taking the same car and slapping different styling on it and claiming it to be another Brand... just like Lee 80s Chrysler......

Frankly I rather see it be shelved then become the collect all import, sub-prime division.

With FIAT out of US, Chrysler is the only option available for STELLANTIS US.
Sure these FIAT Brazil are low margin, but they are what is hot in the current market. Small and Compact Crossover. Engine and packaging options can change to fit Chrysler's picture. I think.

Why waste time trying resurrecting a old Brand that no one who will be in the market in decade has a even passing positive thought? Money would be better spent on re-introducing Fiat properly or to use another one of PSA brands perhaps Opel or Peugeot. Truth is they are way to small to Chrysler.... they would not strike the demographic that would buy them well as a Chrysler. Attaching the Chrysler name would more likely be negatively received in the market place. Be better just to shelve it then to make it the Sub-prime import brand.

You start buying new end caps, changing the powertrain, redoing the interior, tack on certification and safety upgrades and the ROI goes to hell. The only way it works is as a Fiat, with a expanded dealer network at all CDJRs.

Is there a way to just discuss the product as a Brazil product without trying to shoe horn it into the NA market?

"7-speed CVT"?
A CVT has an infinite number of gear ratios between A and Z. They don't have separate speeds. However, some are programmed to have "steps" programmed in to provide a simulated feel of gear changes like the Nissan CVT that was used in the Caliber/Compass/Patriot cars.

I don’t know why they don’t get rid of the CVT.
Nissan has already started removing the CVT from the newly introduced vehicles

Triple, we agree on this. I desperately want new Chrysler product, but as stated many times, it must capture the tradition of entry level luxury and cutting edge engineering synonyms with the Chrysler brand. Yes Chrysler shared much with its less costly siblings, but it was the standard barer of the corporation. Nothing said Chrysler Corporation like the Chrysler brand and nothing defined luxury like Imperial. I dread the temptation of rebadging at the price of being a true Chrysler. I also firmly contend it can be done anew if the right parts are chosen from the Stellantis universe and Chrysler purest create the final product. Nice to be in harmony on this. Kind of anyway. We have ten years to do it and counting.

Yes. Definitely don’t need the next Chrysler to be a cheap Fiat. That has disaster written all over it.

No “purest” exist outside of some cases with Jeep and Maserati.

Not in a significant number that would generate enough sales to sustain the brand. But down margin import brand when they own a bunch of actual import brands is not that answer.

I was looking into the powertrain options.
Pulse is said to come with 1.0 3-cylinder Firefly engine.
It shares the same platform as Argo and Cronos, which they come with 1.3 4-Cylinder Firefly. So I suspect they will offer this engine as well.
