Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Products

Meguiar's has a couple of new products under their "hybrid ceramic" line for 2020. The two I'm most interested in are the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax and the Hybrid Ceramic Detailer.

I used their Hybrid Ceramic Wax last year and while it does bead water pretty well, I found it didn't rinse off very easily and I had to wipe down my car afterward. The two new products, which are designed to be wiped off, should remedy that. I should note that I know these aren't going to be equivalent to a real ceramic coating, which I put on my car a few years ago.

Has anyone used these? If so, what was your experience like? I've ordered both of the items I listed above and plan to use them this weekend.

I used the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax and Hybrid Ceramic Detailer yesterday. I'm pretty impressed so far. The paint has a little bit more gloss to it, though I keep my car waxed so the effect would probably be more noticeable on a car that hadn't been coated with anything. My one complaint with the liquid wax was that it is white and goes on very thin, like so thin that you can't really tell if it's on there or not, so on my white car, it was really a guessing game as to whether I'd covered the entire panel thoroughly and I ended up using more wax than was probably necessary just to ensure complete coverage. The roof of my Charger is painted black and I did notice that the wax didn't haze over after a few minutes like most other waxes. It wiped off really easily though. It's going to rain tomorrow and Wednesday here, so we'll see how well it beads water and mud.

The detailer i would really only use as a topper/ drying aid. Did you clay bar the car and add the new wax? If now how old is the first layer of wax and what brand, curious how it will hold up

I didn't clay bar it. Will probably do that in a few months, but it's fine for now. Last wax I used was Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax.

They also recommend HCLW as a sealant to go over traditional waxes, which is why I didn't use a clay bar this time.
