At last year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, Mopar showed off a 2018 Dodge Durango SRT with a full Mopar array of goodies. The vehicle featured a special two-tone paint job, Katzkin leather seats, Mopar lowering springs and a Mopar full exhaust tuned just for the 6.4-liter SRT HEMI V8 in the Durango SRT.

Well, the SEMA show right almost here and Mopar is bringing that concept to life. Introducing the Mopar ’18 Durango. This Dodge Durango SRT gets the same treatment as the concept, but is available for purchase from your local Dodge dealer. This markets the first time a Durango is getting the special limited edition treatment.

The Mopar ’18 Durango will feature an Octane Red with two-tone black painted roof and hood paint scheme. The Mopar ’18 Durango will also receive unique Mopar ’18 exterior badges on the grille and rear hatch of the vehicle. A black decal will also run around the rear tail light treatment to make sure everyone knows, this is no ordinary Dodge Durango SRT when they are behind you.

Inside, the red leather interior with Mopar logos embroidered into the seat back will be a familiar site if you saw the concept last year. Serialized Mopar ’18 badge will be located on the center console.

Once the vehicle is delivered to dealers, the dealers will install the Mopar SRT performance exhaust system and performance spring kit.

Mopar’s new performance exhaust system is bolt on, high-performance units factory-tuned for improved flow, sound and overall performance. The exhaust system’s chromium 304 stainless steel construction improves corrosion resistance. Stainless steel band-style clamps provide tight seals and make installation easy. Welded and polished 4-inch tips provide an aggressive appearance.

Mopar’s performance lowering spring kit enhances the Durango SRT’s already outstanding high-speed cornering stability and consistency. The new springs lower the fastest SUV in its class an average of 15 mm (0.6 inches) closer to the pavement for improved handling and an in-your-face vehicle stance. As with the performance exhaust, Mopar worked closely with Dodge//SRT engineers and used proprietary data — unavailable to the aftermarket — to tune the lowering springs to the factory-fitted dampers. Performance gains include less rear-end squat during acceleration, less nose dive under braking and reduced body roll while cornering.

Pricing has not yet been announced for the limited run of 250 Dodge Durango SRT Mopar ’18 edition vehicles. The question is with Durango is with the 2019 models already showing up in dealerships, was this the Mopar Special Edition that was forgotten?
