Stellantis Annual Stockholder General meeting
John Elkann calls it ''exciting times”
John Elkann stated this during the Stellantis Annual StockholderGeneral Meeting.
Well coming on July 8th:
“Sources confirmed that among the all-electric models being developed, Dodge will get one that will more than rival the limited-run Challenger Demon it launched in 2017. That 840 hp monster could hit 60 in 2.3 seconds, but a senior official said this week that the upcoming battery muscle car “will be the fastest (Dodge) ever.” It could pose a real challenge to the new Tesla Model S Plaid which will hit 60 from a standstill, according to CEO Elon Musk, in under 2 seconds”
“At least six battery-electric vehicles, or BEVs, are now in the design studios at the automaker’s technical center in suburban Detroit, along with additional PHEVs, various company officials have confirmed.”
The Company is very happy with Wrangler PHEV as we heard similar things about the new FIAT 500

The new Jeep Wrangler 4xe is far exceeding initial sales expectations – with the plug-in hybrid electric version propelling the off-road brand’s iconic Wrangler model to an all-time sales record in May (Wrangler sales topped 25,000 for the month, with just over 20% of that being 4xe sales). The age of Jeep electrification is upon us!
While some of those sales may reflect pent-up demand for the PHEV’s launch, officials said they now expect demand to stay strong, boosted by early reviews of the Wrangler 4xe’s off-road capabilities and its estimated 21-mile range when operating solely on battery power. It helps that buyers get most of the $9,000 cost difference back through up to $7,500 in federal tax incentives. And because residuals are expected to be so high, leases on the 4xe currently run as much as $100 a month below the comparable gas model.

Exciting Times Indeed!

I think Pure EV LCV is one of the 6 EV Michigan developed products.

Adaptation is crucial to survival, whether it involves animals or vehicles. I'm glad there will be alternatives to ICE equipped vehicles going forward. It doesn't mean I love my HEMI powered Challenger any less. I'm just happy that they're still focusing on performance, regardless of the type of powertrain!

Absolutely agree!
One big area that I feel that can be
helpful regards of EV adoption is charging stations at every Legacy Michigan 3 dealers (Mopar/Ford/GM).

I believe the combine size of Stellantis/Ford/GM dealership network in the U.S. is like 10,000 locations which is pretty widespread for the United States and getting the stations installed at the dealerships will reduce range-concerns.

Limited range and inadequate infrastructure are the major concerns of potential EV buyers. I think the range will improve over time as the technology develops, and once there are noticeably more charging stations available, it will allay fears of being stranded somewhere.

Those sales numbers for the Jeep Wrangler are amazing. And the new electric F150 to me blows open the market for rugged EVs for the masses. STLA would be stupid to not jump into that bandwagon.
Also I am glad that they are finally recognizing the potential of EVs for new muscle cars. It's only obvious since their acceleration power is unreal. Give me a challenger EV with the Supercharger coil whine and I bet people will go nuts over it.

The BEV Dodge is not a muscle car. Sure it will be fast but not a muscle
Model S Tesla hi the 60mph in under 2sec with a 1-foot rollout.

Uh, yes it will be. It will compete the duck tape on wheels Tesla has rolled out.

Rimac is the fastest BEV in the world with standard type of measurement. Fastest from a standstill on not so good surface, 0 to 100 km/h.

Awesome!!
Hope it will have as much battery capacity as the BMW X5 PHEV.

But it seems that there's new hope for Dodge.
Hopefully the new EV is a Charger - as big as a Model S - but with Model 3 prices.
The Hornet also is a good signal, it seems it will finally get some investment.

Rumors say the Jeep Grand Cherokee PHEV will be available at the end of the year. We don't know which ICE it will use and more important if it will use the next generation ZF hybrid transmission. That unit is due in 2022 according to ZF and is called the Gen 4.

If they’re waiting on that, there’s a chance it could be paired with the 2.99 L inline six. It’s actually 2.99 instead of 3L, right? I think I remember they do this to avoid tax in certain regions for vehicles above 3L.

PHEV launch + inline six is the dream combo.

Most “3.0“ engines are 2.9-something as it is, but maybe the true displacement is something like 2,920 cc which is too far from 3.0 to be advertised as a ”3.0“. (Note: I do not know the actual displacement of this engine)

WK was planned from the beginning as including a PHEV shortly after launch, delays may have been because ZF is late with its new PHEV-ready transmission. PHEV on WK is a really big deal for sales in Europe, where “hybrids” get tax rebates, and even small changes in fuel consumption can have big changes in annual taxation. FCA wanted to go after the Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Sport in Europe with this model...

Some are saying that BMw will have, as usual, 12 month exclusive for the new ZF.
