If the Maverick goes on sale in USA, should the Ram 1000 be federalized?

I suppose something along the Comanche concept would work but to me it should be a RAM.

If the Ram 1000 is federalized, it better have a decent powertrain. The 2.4 Tigershark/9-speed is OK in the ProMaster City, but is lacking in other applications.

FCA is barely building enough of the Toro and Ram 1000 for the Latin American market. Where else would they build it? Ford is likely counting on sharing sales with other markets, and will probably build the Maverick on the same line as the B Sport. (I could be wrong about the last point.)

It would be great if the Ram 1000 was offered here. I love the Comanche more, but I don't see any two seater being a big seller in our market. Could Jeep sell enough in other markets to make the Comanche a reality?

Mexico? Toluca?

It also depends on what the ultimate cost cutter wants in terms of platforms. He is full of praise for PSA platforms and electrification technology yet he forgets that he had the same technology for 2 markets where he failed. I'm talking about China and South America.

We may see something if they'll give a green light to FCA's architectures.
But I'm worried that French pride may prevail.

No. Not for a little while, at least. Let Ford test the waters. The Ram would need an extensive redesign to be sold here.

Not to compete with the Maverick which is just a Bronco SPort with a bed.

I agree that if it comes, it should be a Ram. Jeep is moving further into luxury territory and a Renegade or Compass-based pickup doesn’t fit that image at all.
