The return of the pillar mount door handle a la Compass - that so many (US) wanted to hate on.

PSA with Jeep coachwork. It was bound to happen with all the ownership changes.

"Why Can't we just take the same car we make 5 other brands on and make 3 more vehicles on it, Fiat, Alfa, and Jeep with styling that mimics those brand character?"

"Well because Jeep and Alfa have specific performance criteria they are supposed to represent, dynamics, and performance."

"Yeah. but let's just do coach work on it for a cheap as possible and slap the brand identity on it that is what we do."

"But, But"

"No buts, see if we can rush it out in 36 months."

Brand specialists finally lost the argument with the bean counters. Here we are 50 years later back at 1973, but global scale.

Keep in mind that this FCA B-SUV project was started before the merger. And that it's designed around CMP 2nd generation – unlike any current PSA vehicle. We'll see how much the Jeep, Fiat and Alfa versions differ. I guess much like Renegade/500X.

But those Renegade got at least a Year of additional Computational and physical development to make the platform capable of the Jeep...

There has been no time for this on these vehicles the timeline given major component Tool lead times suggest zero dynamic development beyond the PSA requirements.

This is the equivalent of the kit car. If the suspension is changed even a little it will surprise the hell out me. Tuning and programing

More traditional design for electric foray in Europe where the green movement has been ambitiously embraced, but likely to flounder in the face of reality. At least the Jeep brand has an electric in the mix. Jeeps next biggest challenge, a big one actually, is how do they reimagine the Cherokee. Options as I see it include a number of corporate donor candidates, but no decision it seems yet. I’d bet on a downsized, two row, Grand Cherokee spin off with substantial styling differences built on the same assembly line or a three row STLA large RWD spinoff. The new Cherokee needs to be further distanced from Compass. Good discussion topic Jeep fans.
