Fiat MR 500X R4 Milano Racing
Milano Racing underwent its first tests with the Fiat 500X equipped with the R4 kit, awaiting the start of the 2019 season. The French team, winner of the R-GT title with the Abarth 124 Rally, tested the SUV on gravel equipped with the aerodynamic package developed by the Oreca Group, designated by FIA as official supplier for the next three years.
Renamed MR 500X R4, the car uses an increased air intake on the bonnet and a large rear wing, with electronics developed by Magneti Marelli, while software for the management of engine mappings, suspensions and related attachments, system braking and tank are provided by the French manufacturer.
The car should be fitted with a 1.6-liter 1.6-liter turbocharger with all-wheel drive and sequential gearbox, in line with the R4 class regulations, which admits both the 2 and 4-wheel drive engines with engines not exceeding 2,000cc displacement. Milano Racing will manage two complete programs, one in the French Rally Championship (Championnat de France des rallyes) following FFSA's decision to open the R4 kit in the national series, and one in
the European Rally Championship (FIA ERC). Team sales will start at the beginning of 2019.
