Manley stated he is interested in PSA Electric technology without saying ("using other people technology on a grand scale").

Last analyst ask will GM's strike help FCA in Q4 with lack of inventory of certain models.
Manley stated FCA's targets doesn't consider GM's inventory as a factor.

That last analyst mumbles that he didn't get ask Manley a question about Tesla credits, funny part is FCA's conference system picked the sound up during Manley's closing remarks.
Manley thanked FCA's employees.

AFAIK private customers in Europe are all over SUVs. Look at it like T-Roc sales or 3008 sales.
Companies are all in for Golfs and similar. FCA is not strong at company sales in Europe.

But IMO this plan is for a company without upcoming merger. IMO they will add more products after the merger.
As I said. AFAIK B and C segment hatchbacks are still going strong, remaining biggest segments. And with the constant pausing of segments and changing of model names FCA is loosing customers again and again.

They don't listen conference calls.

Alfa write down? IMO they will back some projects after merger is official.

Is the Giorgio electro write down for MHEV or PHEV and BEV versions? If the latter, why has Alfa to pay for it and not Maserati?

Basically my understanding from Manley, they declare "original" Giorgio a loss because of the significant changes it has under gone combine with changes to Alfa's development plans.

Without the Merger annoucement, FCA stock would be down. The performance of North America would be on the backburner.

The €1.4bn write-off relates to two things.

In Europe, it wrote off €435m of its investment into smaller cars, as it shifts the Fiat brand away from its smallest models towards more profitable vehicles, such as the Fiat 500.

It wrote off a combined €941m from Maserati and Alfa Romeo, because of significant changes made to one of its Alfa platforms in order to allow future vehicles, including Maseratis, to accommodate battery electric vehicles.

Adam Jonas ask why FCA is subsidizing Tesla?
Manley state he won't tell the numbers.

I myself don't look at it as subsidizing Tesla by purchasing credits... so long as the big Hemi's can live on.

I myself have zero interest in Tesla..... so if FCA has to purchase credits ...Tesla is just a seller of needed credits as far as I'm concerned.

I can’t see them ignoring a C segment hatch back post merger. It’s a no-brainer for me.

Where is a platform?

C segment hatch is interesting to younger people or for company fleets but then it could also be a wagon. SUV on the other hand is for private customers.

Can you back-up the claim that private customers don't buy C hatchbacks anymore?

Platform? Small Wide, EMP2 or something new out of the PSA labs.

This are the private and commercial registrations in Germany 2018 combined. Note that SUVs and Geländewagen (offroad vehicles) include all sizes:

It seems that German market is a very conservative... Slow SUV adoption and in the addition to it extremely low percentage of private buyers.

For PSA talk I think we are off topic. I will comment it in FCA-PSA merger topic.
