There have been rumors on and off for almost 8 years surrounding the Dodge brand and a return to NASCAR competition. NASCAR continues to be at a pivotal point in its 73-year history and next year may prove to be a make-it-or-break-it time for the automotive racing sanctioning body and its haloed Cup Series.

Dodge, self defined as America’s performance brand does not have a presence in America’s premier racing venue, does that make any sense? With a next generation Challenger and Charger, an unusually risky move coming in about a year, what better way to enhance that launch than a return to NASCAR? Dodge knows clearly that both these cars need updates, the market is evolving, but these two muscle cars have flourished because they remain so classic to the past. Returning to NASCAR, doubling down and increasing their involvement in NHRA Factory Stock racing with very stock appearing Challangers is absolutely necessary for growth. The Direct Connection decision is the right “grassroots” approach, but to reach their blue blooded American audience, who have embraced the brand, this racing involvement needs to be fundamental to the Dodge brand. In real life drive in, back alley street racing, grease under the fingernail life, Mopar and Dodge still is most feared, respected and admired. Do it Dodge and do it all the way American style. Do it for the hardcore people who love racing, God, country and Mopar. Do it!

If they could take advantage of the TSR deal, it could be a great thing for the Dodge Motorsports program. In order to have performance credit in the industry, its good to be involved in several racing series.

Even if you aren't a NASCAR fan, it was a great feeling to see a Dodge win on Sunday.

Nope. NASCAR has become such a circus, I wouldn’t waste a dollar on it. Total garbage with no connection or relevance today.
I hope Dodge don’t spend any money here. They need it more to move ahead with future product.

Hard core racing fans have NO interest in Nascar.... anymore that a hard core Olympic style Wrestling fans would for WWE or whatever the name for it is.

DODGE has a strong grass root racing in NHRA and other drag racing events, it doesn't need to be involved it the declining motorsports entertainment venture run by Brain France.

Ad purchases in other professional sports is much better money spent. GM invovement isn't saving their cars, and the Mustang is on it last breath also. There is zero evidence that Nascar involvement has any benefit. It steady decline back to a regional sport is on displace for everyone to see.

I would much prefer they spend there money at the drag strip and the local 1/4 mile that to contribute at all to Brian Frances woke cup circus.

Hard NO.

Agree 100%! I’m satisfied with their involvement in NHRA.
