China-Built 2022 Dodge Journey, Best-Selling Dodge Vehicle In Mexico December!

China-Built 2022 Dodge Journey, Best-Selling Dodge In Mexico For December!

New Crossover Proves To Be Important Part Of Mexican Lineup...

Since its introduction to the market in 2009, the Dodge Journey had become a family favorite crossover for Mexican families. The Mexican-built Dodge Journey was one of the more popular options in the Dodge lineup until its discontinuation after the 2020 model year. With the three-row Dodge Durango being out of the financial reach for a majority of Mexican families, it left the Dodge brand without a viable crossover / SUV option for the Mexican market.

Not surprising at all. An equivalent model in the US would sell enormously as well. IMO, the Hornet will be smaller than what is necessary.

For a small CUV.... not really. This is not a replacement for the Journey for American... really Journey is below any brand expectation for the American market, Subprime princess. Dodge needs a proper Mid-SUV with appointments and performance the matches the brand.

Yes, I agree with that assertion. I probably did not explain myself well.
Dodge needs a Journey successor that has an up to date interior and tech, but with the Dodge DNA.

Well, they're a developing country with lower purchase power. It's the same in Brazil, where Fiats were made locally with out of date platforms but sold massively.
They changed that now, and are making interesting vehicles, but it was like that for a long time.

Mexico is more similar to Brazil as a market. But hopefully this shows that there's interest in a midsize Dodge SUV.

It's totally ok to make low-budget vehicles. But that simple rebadging of a third party product is so cheap.

So is it just now you have a problem? or last few decades and even going back to 70s thru 00 in this market?

And they did modify the car caps
