GM management is convinced that the pace of technology will allow them to have just battery electrics going forward. However I think they are blind to the fact that the pace of implementation will be much slower. Having a handful of EVs won't do much in the interim, because North America is too vast geographically to install a supporting infrastructure overnight. The ivory tower thinkers side GM fail to see how many Americans live in apartments and many more are outside the Acela Corridor and Southern California regions.

GM is now reluctant to spend money on any sort of hybrid, yet they spent a lot of money on the mid-engine Corvette. It won't sell in big numbers and is strictly a niche gas fueled vehicle.
