Thousands of workers are waiting to hear about any new vehicles to be allocated to the Belvidere assembly plant. If anyone knows anything about this please comment. The indefinitely laid off workers have either transferred to other plants or waiting it out working other jobs, but would be nice to hear some real news on the subject.

Thought the same thought lately.

Don't be like GM workers who sold Lordstown down the road for some bonus payments.

The maker of Jeep will idle its plant in Belvidere, Illinois, at the end of February in a "necessary action," citing the increasing costs from electric vehicles and other industry disruptions in its decision.

The Stellantis NV plant that produces the Jeep Cherokee crossover west of Chicago outside Rockford employs 1,350 salaried and hourly workers. They were sent layoff notices about the plant idling effective Feb. 28. The company in a statement said it will make efforts to place indefinitely laid-off employees in open full-time positions as they become available and to identify other ways to repurpose the plant.

Not confident this plant will ever open again.

While making billions in profit.

Stellantis has chosen Mexican labor over American labor.

Electrification is just a excuse.

Shame on you Carlos and Jeep.

Gonna be a long time before my next Mopar purchase.
